Sessions after my previous post:
Yesterday, instead of my usual hard 8K weekly session, I thought why not try full 10K. Goal 1. was sub39, goal 2: SPM preferably <24. Managed to achieve both. Ranked that, even it was not full effort and done with non-optimal SPM and is still about 01:30 slower than where I was last August.

Had two days off. one was my usual Thursday rest but had to go out with wife last night.
So today's session came after I had a session with a new chainsaw and I was about 5 mins in when things started to go weird... turns out there was a nail in part of the tree and totally wrecked the chain.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
First session in almost two weeks due to illness.
10km at r21 HR capped at 145 and trying, and succeeding, to average 140. I think the final time was 39:54. Felt good to be back on the rower but I'm still struggling with the tail end of this illness

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Thanks, Stu! Good luck with your recovery, too! My medical problems may look bad on paper but actually the biggest pain atm comes from hard corn at the sole of my right foot
Did another 72 minutes (6 rounds of 12' (spm 18/20/19/22/19),target strokes 1374. Avg watts were first time over 180W, which is good. Another 10W to go and then hopefully can get HR down a bit before heading to higher avg-SPMs.

After 9 days no rowing (I elected to extend the bank holiday weekend and decorate majority of ground floor) plenty of beer and red wine for refreshments and celebrations, Thought i'd better get back to it this morning, another crack at the 10m, 40 seconds off previous time so happy with that

Thanks for the helpful tips. My background in weight training is basically nothingGammmmo wrote:hobbit - other way round if i were you. what's your weights background? work out your key erging sessions (intervals?) and schedule things so u r fresh as possible. if u want to do weights 3 times a week dont goto failure all the time...think frequency/recovery and not intensity all the time.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Well done and good progress! It would be better to address the resistance setting in terms of drag factor rather than damper setting as the DF will vary a lot from one machine to another with an identical DS depending on how clean the machine is. It is good to set a DF in the 110 - 130 range depending on your own "sweet spot" and check machines as part of the set up for a piece.Heaviestuser wrote:2K Damper Setting 8 Pace 22 Time 8:58:5
