If you haven't got ErgData, or don't want to use Ergdata, you can also use a USB stick and upload it via the C2 utility that can be downloaded from the C2 website
51 HWT; 6' 4"; 1k= 3:09; 2k= 6:36; 5k= 17:19; 6k= 20:47; 10k= 35:46 30mins= 8,488m 60mins= 16,618m HM= 1:16.47; FM= 2:40:41; 50k= 3:16:09; 100k= 7:52:44; 12hrs = 153km

Hi, I do use Ergdata, but I did this 100m as one of a set of two. And Ergdata only wants to rank that as a 200 m :-)...... Next time I will do separate ones!

Yeah, it's annoying that it won't split them. I did my 2km PB as part of an interval session and it won't register that time

That would be false, you could use a flying start. So it has to be a standalone piece. Start will be from a still.

The USB stick is really a last resort. There is a danger of corrupting the USB stick just from sticking it into the erg. Then you lose all the workouts you haven't yet uploaded to the logbook. Also, when you use the USB stick any failure loses the workout, because the workout doesn't get recorded into the PM. When using ErgData, I only ever had one workout glitched, and I was still able to view the workout within the PM.

Not OP, but thanks for the advice. I didn't realise that USB sticks had any downsides. I'll get Ergdata.

Henry, it was a 2k to start and then followed by other intervals so it was a standing start, and I agree if it was a flying start i wouldn't have counted it.

I always use both USB and ergdata as I use a gym erg so I can store my favourite sessions and recall previous workouts.

I have had one issue with USB stick about 10 months ago but since then it's been fine and I have recorded circa 2 million metres on it. Ergdata has let me down 3 or 4 times but I now think that is something to do with my HR monitor and Bluetooth connections; it seems to have been fine when I don't use my Wahoo Tickr

I do agree Ergdata is the preferred option but there's no issue using both if you want

Concept 2 explicitly recommends NOT having the stick in the PM while using ED. If ED fails to record workout, it’s in PM memory. Plug in the stick AFTER you have an ED failure to record and then transfer result to C2 utility on pc. Don’t keep the stick in the PM as failsafe storage in anticipation of ED failure. There is nothing that prevents removal of the stick from the PM after loading a workout from favorites.

Thanks for the advice. I recently upgraded from my trusty old Model C with PM2 to Model D with PM5 and Ergdata. One problem I have is that the PM5 doesn't remember my chest belt ANT id and I have to manually pair for every row. I believe that the only way to get the PM5 to remember the ANT id is by using USB storage. The belt manual pairing and the need to manually sync the Ergdata to the log book after every row are the only slight disappointments with my new setup.

Ergdata should be able to do that for you. Just connect Ergdata to the PM5, and the PM5 should find your HRM.

Of course assuming that you replied "Yes" when Ergdata asked if it should store the HRM ANT id for you, the first time you used the HRM in an Ergdata session.
