7 year old times. Any good?
My little girl has been on my machine 5 or 6 times. 2:56 for the 500m and 260m in 2 minutes. No technique obviously. She is going to be tall and her mum was quite the cross country runner. Good when compared to rankings but does anyone else have kids that row?
Re: 7 year old times. Any good?
It's much too early to be able to tell if she will be a good rower or not. But if you think she will be tall it's not a bad idea to encourage rowing!

I agree, encouragement is a must imo. Even if she is not going to be in the "elite" category, rowing is still a great activity for supporting a good healthy lifestyle.

We lost the "Kids rowing - just for fun" list of times vs ages post as that was on the now defunct UK Forum.
Perhaps we should restart that "just for fun" thread on here.

My two nieces from a month or so ago:
8 yrs - 500m in 3:22 r 37
9 yrs - 500m in 3:27 r 43
School skirts got caught in the rollers a few times but, in truth, they have no excuses. Abject technique and appalling watts per stroke

From memory, there is a really interesting chapter in 'High Performance Rowing' (kindle version exponentially cheaper than the hardback) about coaching kids - especially around training co-ordination and broader concepts around team work, discipline etc.
