Do you live in a country within the time zone CEST (summer)?

Post by MadsNilsson » May 27th, 2015, 1:11 pm

Hello . I love rowing on my Concept2 , but find it tedious to row alone. I have bought the app Boat Coach (for android/apple) and ErgData. I also concider to buy Rowpro .
The problem is that it is hard to find people who are in my time zone (Central European Summer Time in the summer GMT in winter) . Therefore I would like to gather friends who are online at the same time as me , so we can train together .

I am not sure if it is allowed to enter my email address here, but you might contact me in a PM by pressing the user ID? Or post a post here - and I get back to you.

I am relatively new to erging, doing 5000 meters at around 22:30. I want to find friends who want to workout for a 30 minutes - 1 hour pass, around 17.30 CEST ? Or maybe a short pass in the morning. Hope to hear from you.

Sincerely Mads

Hello Mads.
Italy downthere :) and the same problem with Rowpro, as I usually train around 19.30 local time, gmt+2 now in the summer. Really are you GMT in winter? Isn't Norway GMT+1? If you're GMT must be UK in the range, so plenty of padders.

I'm, too, relatively new to erging. I usually train 5/6 a week, 3's being 60' or more UT2/UT1 @2:30/2:10 and two fast intervals like 8x500 @1:56 or 4x5x30" @1:44. And I'm 62 and lwt so don't expect as much as a progress for my TT.

That said, I bought Rowpro but to be honest I never been able to find a lot of people around to row online.

Hi Paolo. I believe we are in the same time zone. Nice to hear from you. Your digits do not tell me too much, I am afraid. I row 6-7 times a week. Most of the times around 17.00 or 17.30. I would like a companion for, lets say, 40 mins? (My butt get quite worned out after more - as I am new). I am not only at the RowPro - but bought the Boatcoachapp which is a bit simpler, but more easy to use - you do not have to have a table for your computer. Anyway - would you like to row with me? I am rowing 5000 in about 22 min (hard work). Today I rowed 10.000 in 45.30 or something. I would love to have you company :)

Just stick to straight GMT time as it appears in RowPro as the time you row or else its a total nightmare to work out, especially here in NZ where we are 12 hours ahead at the moment but it jumps all over the place as our daylight savings time switchover is not at the same time as the UK.

I have rowed with Italians before so we possibly have some crossover, but it would be early morning for me if you row in the evenings.

The best thing to do in RowPro is set-up SCHEDULED rows a few days in advance so others can see them and join in. Don't expect to just jump online and expect others to be there. Also a set time is better than a set distance and is more popular as everyone starts and finishes at the same time, its just psychologically better and I have found you get more people join in.

Try this

it really helps with easing the "timezone pain".
