The New Alpinism - book

Post by climber511 » August 15th, 2014, 9:56 am

I'm a climber who rows and have been reading the book The New Alpinism. Lots of talk about heart rate training that I'm enjoying - can anyone recommend other good books (articles etc) on the subject? Lots of discussion on the benefits of Zone 1 training for a base etc. Nothing new but I imagine there is info out there as applies to rowing or no doubt running that I have not read that I might enjoy. Also ways of monitoring heart rate variability etc and equipment/software etc for the rower that functions in this way. Help appreciated.

I'm a climber too. I made my way into endurance sports through cycling.

I learned everything I know and use through thorough reading of Steven Seiler's Masters Athlete Physiology Pages.
