Interactive Weight Loss Plan

Post by patsully98 » March 10th, 2014, 9:56 pm

Hi folks, I'm wondering what's the best way to set up Interactive Weight Loss Plan workouts on a PM3. The plan calls for recovery from the work pieces based upon heart rate, so unless I'm mistaken I can't just set them up like regular intervals. Do you think Just Row would be best? Should I set them up as intervals and just take my best guess at recovery? Thanks.

I use intervals when I can't fit the workout into the default 5 and 10 minute Just Row format. When using intervals I keep the Watts lowish (they're not races or TTs) and rest for 2 minutes max even if it's a 6x3' TR. My HR drops plenty in that time (> 30), so it's more than enough to control HR and I don't get cold.

In JR the 5 and 10 minute default intervals may not show you all the data you want and we must keep moving if we don't want the PM to switch off.

If you warm up first in JR, you have time to decide what to do and how.

Update your PM3. The current firmware includes undefined rest for intervals.

Great suggestions jamesg, and thanks for the tip Citroen. Undefined rest is probably the way to go.
