How's my form?
Re: How's my form?
Uhm where perhaps do you live? that looks exactly like my gym is laid out. And you look very good for the first couple of sessions, one suggestion however that would help improving boat speed, not necessarily erg speed, would be to make sure you get your body all the way forward before you start the coming to the catch with your legs. This will let the boat flow underneath you better
Re: How's my form?
Thanks for that tip. It makes sense, and I realize that I do start to move forward with my legs before my body and arms have completed their forward motion. I'll keep working at it.jcage218 wrote:Uhm where perhaps do you live? that looks exactly like my gym is laid out. I'm on eastern Long Island and the erg is at a Planet Fitness. Most Planet Fitnesses look the same, but none of the other one's I've visited while on the road have an erg. Is that your gym as well?

NO WAY!!!! Thats my gym! thats awesome. What club will you be rowing out of? Im from east end rowing. I train all year round for junior races, I also have a coach that might be able to give you a hand. And if you do any 2ks on the ergo, I suggest doing them at a stroke rate of 32ish. Many novices assume rating low and pulling their heart out for every stroke on 2k tests.
Re: How's my form?
Cool, I didn't think anyone else used that erg at the gym. Although today I saw an older guy with a couple of younger boys there and it looked like he was coaching them. High school perhaps? Thanks for the tips. I haven't joined a club, this is all still new to me. I'll probably end up with the East End rowing club if I stick with this, I know someone else who belongs to it.jcage218 wrote:NO WAY!!!! Thats my gym! thats awesome. Too funny! I don't usually go to the gym that late, so that's why I've never bumped into you guys before. I was holding up your workout on the rower, you coach kept looking at me, I guess wondering when I was going to be done. I know Steve G from East End. We've done a lot of biking together in the past.jcage218 wrote:
