Canadian? The Stone Brewing Co. is in California and it is sort of expected to have strange things going on here. If you had used the expression "strange Californians" some might consider it to be redundant.

Ah I mis-read the wiki entry.

Do they sell it in San Jose/Los Gatos? I may be back in Silicon Valley for six weeks during the summer. I've met lots of "strange Californians".

Just a quick news update.

Ranger has been banned from the UK forum for 24 hrs for straying out from his blog over there.

quick fix anyone?

Does anyone need a quick snort just to hold off the DT's? Here is a gem from a few years ago. He was asked about not doing his FM as promised and if he was afraid to try one. This is one of my favorite reasons for not doing a FM (and of course he can't do any other test pieces until he does a FM:)

Like the rummy sitting in the corner nursing his pint im now sated. To think that training has now been going on for FIVE years. Good job Seal Team Six didnt take as long to "habituate" their technique.

Are you familiar with that outfit? It is another sort of weird California institution (run by a German company I have heard) that started up small in SoCal about 55 years ago and now has outlets all across the country. It is primarily a food market, but they have always had an extensive selection of beers and wines that cannot be found elsewhere.

The site showed 4 stores in various parts of San Jose.

Probably only took them about 3 years. But they're quick learners.

Bet they could all could also row a faster FM than our hero, without even preparing for it, or even sitting on an erg in their lifetime for that matter.

training food for a 6:16 2K

Dinner tonight was shephard's pie. The filling was ground beef, chopped onions, pieces of carrots, peas, and some sauce.

The dough was just a simple pizza dough recipe: 1 1/2 cups of warm water, yeast, a little olive oil, some salt, a touch of sugar, about 3 1/2 cups of flour. I only use about 1/3 of the dough for this pie. I store the rest of the dough for later cooking projects.

I always spray the pan with olive oil, spray some on the dough, and lightly brown the dough before baking with the filling. That way the crust is not soggy. I put some slices of potatoes on top, with a touch of kosher salt, lots of black pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese.

I have noticed that we have some culinary experts who attend this thread. Any suggestions for improvements?

I just finished off a Dirty Gym Sox Special, a small section of a Knäckebröd round topped with Limburger cheese. Unfortunately, the cheese was domestic, but not bad - at least the odor was right. The Knäckebröd was Siljans from Finland.

Here is a quick fix to help the addicts get through the day. It is tough to quit cold turkey:
