Join the Bin Laden Row tomorrow!

We all know about the quote "yeah, if you have one hour to spend, better spend it on the C2 than on TV" (well unless a third option supersedes both...). Here I'm sharing with you my personal choice, in case it becomes a source of inspiration for others:

Most of week days I haven't got time to go out and train, for obvious reasons.
But everyday, every single day, I really like my breakfast time, and for it to be slow. Lasting about an hour. And don't get me wrong, I've got a busy life too, except that this one hour is obtained by sacrificing any other hour at night, as I've made the choice to go to bed immediately after I finish work, just inserting a shower in between, thank you!

I also really like watching the international news while having brekky, everyday (the French news in my case, as I like their domestic and int'l full coverage), since I can't picture my life without knowing what's happening everywhere else. Whatever the reasons behind, I like watching the news.

I've therefore created a version of the "active breakfast", where I'm just replacing the "eating" part while watching the news into a "rowing while watching the news".

Since I want to be free timewise, I watch the online news version, never on TV.
It's better as you start it whenever you're ready, and no commercials.
Mine lasts about 45 minutes. I just get a fruit and a sponge biscuit or two before rowing, so I'm still light, and a sip of pepsi every 20 minutes, as it's getting thirsty, until I row an hour (so 15' after the end of the news...But I prefer to start the news at minute 15, it's more exciting).

At the end of the row, I'm full with that fruit and pepsi stuff so I don't feel like eating just as soon. Therefore I can go and do other things, like getting ready. The next snack or meal will naturally bring me nutrients for the following hours.

I found that trade really pays off, as it forces you to keep concentrating on both the news and the pace, and you'll find out it's really difficult to intellectually pay attention to the political analysis while trying to keep your pace and HR at the desired levels. It's my nanoversion of a "commando training", while those guys still have got to "think clear" while being dead physically.

Anyway, I just thought some other rowers might be interested, as I often thought about rowing in the morning, then fell into the creature comforts of having a long news brekky instead.

I can't wait for tomorrow morning's and see "my" full coverage of Bin Laden's "deactivation" while rowing for an hour...
