Sorry about Indy, guys.

I just didn't feel ready to race.

So I didn't.

In order to feel fully ready to race, I need to do more rowing at 119 df. and high rates (30 spm-40 spm).

I have a good feel for what I can do with my "Steamroller" rowing at 23 spm and 119 df. and my "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy"" rowing at 26 spm and 119 df., but I am still a little lost at 119 df. and higher rates.

As I was warming up at Indy, it seemed to me that the only way I would have felt comfortable racing was to do 26 spm, but I really didn't feel like wasting my time and energy racing at such a low rate, even though I might well have been able to hold 13 SPI and do 1:41/6:44.

I guess I am just a bit tired of racing unprepared, and perhaps this change of heart is permanent.

There is really no reason to do my training rows at race venues.

So, maybe I'll just do these rows at home from now on, and save the race venues for when I am fully prepared to race.

Your problem is too many ifs in your life, if I can do this, if I do that blah blah blah, you mentioned wasting your time rowing at Indy, you drove almost 300 miles man!
With you amount of training you should be able to paddle a 6.45, is it because you had some competition?.

That's all from me folks, lets see this thread die now.

And just as meaningful a FM at 1:30 pace by a lightweight would best it even more or even an 1:15 if it were possible but were are not talking about what is possible in this thread anyway; are we, only what would be if only......pigs could fly?

No, being the best is not boring at all.

If you put in the time and effort to be the best, you would find out why.

my 11 month old girl has a bigger heart and a bigger brain than you. I am tipping she could pull 2ks on an erg faster than you. Even if she couldnt, she would at least give it a go.

Less dribble comes out of her mouth than comes out of yours.

My last comment here.

Given that the 60s lwt FM WR is right around 2:00 pace, no 60s lwt has ever had a natural stroking power of much more than 9 SPI.

9 SPI @ 38 spm is right about the 60s lwt 2K WR of 6:42.

Rich, I didn't think you could make me any happier than I was already this morning, but you just topped it. 16 miles in a 4x, a lovely night last night, then I woke up this morning to find you'd surpassed yourself with a pointless DNS.

You are utterly beyond redemption.

I love the fact that you don't view driving a 600 mile round trip or whatever it was as a waste of time and energy, but in your twisted mind, racing at 26 would be.

You ran and hid because, once again, you realised that you can't get anywhere near what you talk about. It does make me laugh, and we all know you'll keep us amused in the future. Failure will build on failure, slow races will become DNFs, and you'll spiral downwards to whatever.

Thanks!!

Nope.

I have only raced at low drag once.

ranger
Not raced moron trained, It will be fun to watch you the next 6 weeks. You again will be slower and again won,t come within a light year of any of your "Goals"

Btw 119 is not low drag at all, it is normal drag. But it's all irrelevant, you will be back up big time soon.

Not that you would know, rangerboy!! You so clearly are NOT the best, as amply demonstrated by your miserable results over the last two seasons.

In order to be the best you actually have to RACE. Which you obviously can't/won't because you are a pathetically delusioned loser.

No one cares about your results from past decades. Yesterday's performance tells all anyone needs to know about your capabilities, courage, and competitiveness - nonexistent.

Im think of driving to Edinburgh. Stopping at a Travellodge. Having a bowel movement and driving back home. It's about a 600 mile round trip so im sure it will be worth it. I just hope im able to perform when i sit atop the throne.

Ranger, why not do a 2k trial at home every 6 weeks or so, at a near race rate, to see if you're ready instead of figuring it out once you get to a race venue?

I notice ranger isn't registered for Toronto next week. Entries closed at midnight last night. Shame. I was so looking forward to seeing the "miracle on erg."

Last year's winner of the 60-64 HWT was 7:42. I guess this wasn't even worth the drive to warm up.
