Once again, it's "all about ranger"... the wounded little boy... banned from the UK forum... for many unsocial behaviors as I detailed a moment ago:

Hardly.

It is just the best of the best.

It's ideal.

I don't know anything about what Roy' is up to lately.

That's _his_ business.

He doesn't hang out here on the US Forum; and I don't hang out on the British forum--for good reason.

The moderators there wrecked it.

Anyone want to vote on whether R.Cureton is "well" or not?

That's not what I heard. I heard that your behaviour became so objectionable on the main forum that you were rightly relegated to your blog.

It is most peculiar that during your 24 hour ban here (for objectionable behaviour) you popped up briefly in your UK blog to post identical drivel to what is posted here. Why? Nothing you have to say is that important that it can't wait a day ... a week ... a year ...

.

Its because without the attention he would wither and die.At the age of 50 he found himself excelling at something for the first time in his life and is hanging on for grim death so he can still get all the feedback even though it is far from complementary. No one gives a rats ass about poetry but erging as a competitive endeavour ( and the internet chatter) is his very life blood. He couldnt leave it for ONE day. Its why he went to the UK site. We are just enablers. Its like watching a really bad soap opera just to see that big titted bird you fancy make an appearance once in a while. We tune in,he repeats/lies ad nausuem and competes without scrutiny in a gym in the middle of Nebraska twice a season and we are satisfied. When i was 13 i developed a terribly "guilty" habit. Im now 40 and have developed another one. Its Manbatts "training" thread except now im not worrying about my mother catching me reading it!

This thread is like a wreck on the highway. You really don't want to look. You don't want to be like all those other gawkers who just slow everything down, but if the line of traffic should slow as you go by, you do it, don't you, you can't resist it. It's hard to believe this drivel has been going on since May 4th, and has accumulated 477 pages. Pathetic

It wasn't just Ranger's behaviour it was the reaction he drew from some of the other forum members who didn't hold back when it came to being very rude and very truthful about his behaviour over there. Chris Rowe (a C2 UK employee and the forum admin) made the right decision to relegate him to his blog (which then became the target for all the nay sayers).

All I do as moderator is enforce the rules that C2 UK want to apply to their forum. For that I've been vilified and equated to Hitler by Ranger. If someone took away Ranger's internet access and prevented his trolling that would be a "Good Thing™".

Less than two weeks until the soap opera ends...kind of sad. I've completely lost interest in ranger's training and antics, but am fascinated by another angle.

This assumes, of course, that he makes the trip across the pond for BIRC. This also assumes that WE are all correct and he is still a 6:40+ erger. At BIRC there will be countless people with video cameras focused on ranger's erg. It sounds like they publish stroke data as well. Ranger swears he's in 6:20 condition, and will go out at 1:35 for the first 1700 meters then sprint to the finish.

Assuming we are correct, and assuming he does indeed go out at 1:35, how freaking ugly will this get? Will he actually maintain 1:35 for the first 800 meters then completely fall apart and handle down? Will he go out at 1:35 and quickly back it off to 1:40-1:41, knowing very early on that he's in trouble?

Something isn't adding up here. Either he's truly in close to 6:20 shape and knows it, or he has absolutely zero intention of sitting on an erg at BIRC. His trolling is so good, I can't decide which side of the fence I'm on! What do you all think? Predictions?

I really, really hope someone with an HD quality camera gets good footage. Maybe 2 or 3 cameras with some zooming in. Then let it go viral. Stop motion pick it to death like a vulture on roadkill. Oh and maybe a guerrilla reporter can stuff a microphone and camera in his face at the finish and get a "reaction".

He'll row around 1400m with breaks then handle down. He'll get through 250m at 1:35 before the first break.

Elapsed time to handle down: 6:20

Less than two weeks until this chapter/semester of the soap opera ends. Then we'll be back to "in Boston, I'll" then "in the fall, I'll" depending on the current semester.

The spouting of shite from the forum's favourite troll is a continuous flow - that's what's really "kind of sad".

If he'd got his training right he could do 6:38. Since he hasn't done the right training 6:41 or handle down & dnf, or dns, or handle down / handle up /shake it all about (repeat 5 times) and 7:08.

Nobody will be interested enough in doing that unless he brings his long suffering wife over as "cameraman". The age group LWT race is likely to be on just after 09:00 GMT (04:00 EST) so you may have a struggle to even catch the streaming.

There'd also be the awful camera shake problem when he's done the five handle down, handle up, shake it all about events and finishes with 7:08. The uncontrollable laughter at his abject failure 5000 miles from home won't be good for the poor sap who chooses to film the old twerp.

Yes, I can do both 10K, 1:50 @ 20 spm, and 10K, 1:45 @ 24 spm.
These things are just warm up at the moment, though.

At lot of 1:30 @ 37 spm will make 1:35 @ 31 spm feel like walking.

ranger
My own assessment is that Rich cannot hang on to 300W for 6K at any rate much less at 24spm.
The 10K "warmup", 1:45@24spm has never taken place.

Rich's belief in the possibility of such is wishful extrapolation from some other unspecified rowing which
he is actualy doing. This is the most generous interpretation of his statements.

"A lot of 1:30 @ 37 spm will make ..." sure that he will handle down at BIRC.

Come, come gents!

Look at the guy in these photos

Can this specimen pull a 1:25 500?
No.
Conclusion (!) No 6:20 2k.

Let's just let him float away in peace: on into the sunset in his little decorative racing vessel that he hasn't learned to steer...

Here the table to consult about the 6:20 BS:

http://www.machars.net/paulslawmulti.ht ... &time=6:20

The best TSO can do is (I agree (more or less)with Citroen)

http://www.machars.net/paulslawmulti.ht ... &time=6:40

But since Rich will go out too fast:
