First day back in over 2 years.

Post by JoshK » March 26th, 2009, 9:01 pm

Well, recently a few buddies and myself ventured through my computer archives and stumbled upon some old varsity rowing pictures from highschool. And man did it bring back memories. So I said what the heck, I'll do a 2k. Now, i'm no where near in shape. I haven't jumped on the C2 in almost 3 years, but I proud I finished :D

I'm 6'0", 180 and severly out of shape. This is all I could muster.

7.58.7

But I'm back. And more eager than ever. I managed to get my friends to start erging again and hopefully that will keep me motivated more.

More to come in the next few weeks.

day 2

I wanted to do something a little further distance, so i decided on a 3k this time, not far at all I know. But it only being my 2nd day back, i wanted to make sure i finished, because from my experience is that nothing is worse feeling than not completing a row. So i got on and set the pace boat at a 2:06 split, like I said, i wanted to keep it nice and easy. So i ended up with a

12:32 3k, which was like a 2:05:3 average split with a rate at 24. Not great, but i'm glad I finished.

:D

Did a 4k today after warming up on the bicycle.

Only managed a 17.02 / 2.07.8split @ 24s/m

I did the "fly and die" method for the first 2k, the next 1k was horrible, and the last 500meters were decent.

Eventually wanting to get back on the water, I continued working on my Technique.
