distance to stroke rate

Post by jkalmes » October 1st, 2008, 11:29 pm

I've been working on the amount of meters per stroke, I find myself anywhere from 8 to 11 meters per stroke, is the distance per stroke a sign of good form? Also I find my self at around 22 to 25 spm and around 2:10 to 2:22 split rate, I"m using a Model B. I'm working on a harder/quicker drive and that seems to lower my split time and still keep my stroke rate around 23 spm. Is this the right way to approach better times?

Well it is not a sign of bad form. Can't really say much more than that. If you want to know how good your form is post a video and you will get help from fellow formumites.

It is one way to do it. One needs to be smooth and have good form with both high force low rating and lower force high rating. Plenty of coaches have people work at the lower ratings and high power and only bring up the rating when the power is there.
