I have been on and off a C2 rower over many years and I still have a love hate relationship with it.
I know it is really good in helping weight loss which I am still battling but as I head for 65 years old it is not getting any easier.
I will be using a rower in a local gym in Ayrshire Scotland and would like to join a small virtual team so I can enter team challenges as well as the individual ones. Please reach out if you are interested in having another member for your team.

You should give the LUNA-TICS a try - we are a friendly group with an active presence here in the Teams forum to keep us all motivated. Here's the team blurb:
LUNA-TICS
The LUNA-TICS TEAM (named for the lunar distance goal of the year-round LUNA-TICS Affiliation team) is dedicated to having fun while encouraging one another to row/erg onward and upward. After 9 years (!), the LUNA-TICS accumulated enough meters to land on the moon on March 1st, 2011. We enjoyed going to the moon so much that we're going back! Our interstellar journeys are long, and we're always glad to have friendly teammates along for the journey. We hope to see you on our roster soon! Visit our Team Room on the C2 Forum under "Teams"" to see what we are doing today and join in with us! We always have room for more teammates in our virtual boat. The LUNA-TICS CHALLENGE TEAM and the year-round LUNA-TIC Affiliation are open to all
Hope to see you on the team!

I second that for Luna-Tics, they are a fun, no pressure group. I recently joined them and they are very laid back, inviting and do fun stuff. I have not experienced any pressure to row (other than my own personal determination) I'm very happy with the way Luna-Tics operates, and glad I joined.

Sign on! We're always interested in new and continuing teammates! Our journey is a long one, made better by those who join us - the timeline to get to the moon is generally somewhere in the 2 to 2.5 year range, and we just started this trip to the moon this past season. We do compete in the team challenges, and recognize that everyone chooses to participate depending upon what's going on in their lives at that time. We celebrate individual milestones, and Lunie Team milestones. We have a few teammates who have rowed, biked and ski erged enough meters to orbit the earth - true hall of famers! They are inspirational - and most of us are aspirational ! Hope to see you on the roster soonest!

I was looking to join a small group of 12 or less but as luna-tics seems friendly I have just added my name to the team.
Also signed up for the big burn which could be interesting as I haven't done any decent rowing for a very long time and I dread to think what my times will be but I am stubborn old so andsso and like a challenge so I will be ready to go in January at my local gym.

At 65 you're in time to do a lot of good work.
I rowed aged 15 to 20, then restarted (erg, 1x, K2, freestyle) at 62.
Had to stop at 84, under docs orders.
If you have the style, fine. If not, that's where to start.
