Looking to join a team ...

Post by Buttercow » April 2nd, 2020, 5:25 pm

I am 73 years old and retired. Since January 2019 I have been using the Concept 2 Rowing Machine in the Fitness Center of the retirement community where my wife and I live. During the month of March 2020 I rowed a total of 232K meters, averaging between 2:50 and 3:10 per 500 meters.
There are not a sufficient number of residents in my retirement community who are interested in forming a team so I am reaching out to the Concept 2 community to see if anyone needs an additional member for their Spring VIII Series team.
Thank you,
Jon Crawford

Hi Jon - the Forum Flyers welcomes all comers of all standards from all around the world and you would be very welcome - the team thread is just here and you can see a similar message from yesterday as well.

Welcome aboard, Jon. Wipe down that handle before and after your session. We may not survive to one hundred and five but we can soldier on. 👍

Thank you, Jackrabbit!
I shall wipe down the handle, wash my hands, and not touch my face.

well done Jon - it is a great thing to do. I realised this morning that I was guilty of some over promising - the "all ages" thing is not really true - we are by and large a +50 group with some really strong younger ones at the top. Most young'uns are more attracted to the social media involved groups whereas we are mainly communicating on this thread and doing the best we can with what we have left in the kit bag. We do have members from all over the world though.
There are a number of challenges through the year with C2 and a monthly one called the CTC - details on our thread. Lots to motivate. Have a look at the training thread for new rower tips as well.
