Virtually Rowing the Mississippi River

Hello all. New to the forums, but wanted to see if anyone is up for a challenge. My sister got me an early birthday present this year to give me a low-impact option for my knees.

It is my goal to virtually row the length of the Mississippi River from the Headwaters in MN to the Head of Passes near the Gulf in LA. This is trip is approximately 2,350-mi (3781958-m). I am aiming to complete this route before the end of 2020. If anyone is interested in attempting this with me, feel free to join the team. Would be good to have others on-board for the upcoming team challenges too.

If interested in participating with me:

Welcome!
Its definitely a good tool for dodgy knees - I can vouch for that.

Sounds like a great challenge. Am already affiliated to another team else would have joined in. Good luck with it :)

That's a heck of a way to go in 9 months - good luck with your quest, but way out of my comfort zone.

Just for clarification, it is just a personal goal to complete these meters by the end of the year... Not a requirement to participate in the team.

As much as I love a crazy challenge I just don't have the time to commit to rowing 420k a month for the rest of the year.

Best of luck with it all though

That is a very ambitious goal! I've done similar motivational "routes" in the past, it's a good idea and a cool way to track progress.

For me, though, it is a little too ambitious. I row pretty steadily over the year and try to average 100K per month between the erg and OTW (in a boat). That keeps me fit, but not really podium level and is about the most I can do with the rest of my life to live, too.

Good luck, post occasionally to let us know how it's going!
