An Update RE: Danno

Post by Kona2 » August 15th, 2011, 9:52 pm

Just got an email from Dan's wife, Jeanne. She says:

Today Dan had successful bypass surgery. Instead of a triple bypass they did 6.
He is doing very well. He is in ICU. He's alert and comfortable. His color is
great and he even joked a little with the nurses.
Thank you for your prayers and good wishes.

Keep those positive thoughts and prayers going his way -

C'mon, Gabby! Row, row, row!
Much belated but heartfelt birthday wishes to Chris and Barbara!

Just got back on the erg (and to checking the forum), after a long "vacation" from rowing :( and a short but very nice real vacation in Maui :).
No access to an erg there, but snorkeling with turtles was awesome!
Seeing the cyclists riding up on Haleakala, reminded me of Jan ;).

Happy rowing!

Great to hear from you, Andrea! I've done the ride down Haleakala - where to avoid what are called Maui Owies, you're wearing a motorcycle helmet, and multiple layers while flying down the mountain on a cruiser bike. Good times! Glad some of your many travels gave some vacation time. :D

Danno,
Here's hoping you leave ICU very quickly & go to step-down, where they get you ready to go home. The sooner you get out of the hospital the better you will rest and recover. They told me I would remember nothing about ICU, but they were wrong. I remember every waking moment in there and I was glad to leave (even tho' they took very good care of me).

I'm glad you are resting comfortably. I thought of you as I did my 500m intervals this morning and I imagined how joyfully you will resume rowing. Can't wait 'till you get back!

Jackson is still Mario, actually not too many years away from growing his own real moustache if he follows in Uncle Jay and my footsteps.

School started Monday, Jackson is starting 6th, Tris 7th, Kaylee 3rd, Ashlee 1st, and Ethan Kindergarten. Bobbie still in 2nd grade :) They all are at the same school except Jack who actually resides in the city limits of Malvern so he attends Malvern Middle School. Everyone else is at Glen Rose School, one of the 4 county schools.

Wow, school is already started for some? Do they get out earlier than most then? Early May, perhaps?

Usually the last week in May. Sometimes first week in June. But we have lots of snow days and rain days. If it snows a half inch, school is out. If it rains alot, our roads are impassible.
