I just want to put a plug in for the outstanding customer service of Concept 2.

I was rowing yesterday, and just as I had finished my rowing session my rower literally broke in half (right where the rower folds up). There was an acknowledged design flaw, and this is covered by the warranty. So sometime next week I'll get a new front end for my Model D. In the mean time I have it cobbled together and propped up on some old textbooks and it seems to work fine for the time being.

So, if you have a Model D purchased between August 2006 and May 2007, please read here:

http://www.concept2.com/service/indoor- ... uct-notice

And be sure to install your Reinforcement Kit if you haven't already.

I know you all know what a great job your Cap'n and first mate do. Also you know how fast he is, and how many meters he puts in.
You probably don't realize that he also does a lot for his non-erging community.
On Monday, 10-March-2013, he and his wife are being honored at dinner in their community for all they do there.

You are right. I never would have guessed this. A warrant for his arrest, lawsuit for criminal negligence, or his photo on a milk carton are far more believable. Congrats, Izz. You seem to really have a full plate. This is cool. I'm proud of my virtual rowing captain.

The trick is to hitch your wagon to a good woman, then people think you must be a great guy if you're married to her. Who said there's no such thing as a free ride?
Yes, Andy, the police will be waiting with handcuffs next to the dais for when I finish my acceptance speech. Until I make it to the side of a carton of delicious milk, I'll have to be satisfied with having my pic in the post office, even though people will soon only be able to see my picture 6 days a week... For now though, it's great to be Wanted!
I don't know if I have a full plate, Andy, but I'll have a full plate on March 10th so that I come home feeling full. Besides, our dinner will be free. That's a free ride PLUS free food - can life get any better?

And David A: Stop stalking me!!!

Hey, didn't you cry when that man & his draft animal were reunited on the Bud Super Bowl commercial? So why pick on ME?!

Okay, let's amend that awkward colloquialism to read, "...hitch your wagon to the wagon of a good woman..." (I originally hitched my wagon to a star, but found that it wasn't budging, so I went for the starlet...)

Congrats, Izz! Haha, Lisa, I like "Mizzizz Izz." Good stuff. This is a pretty neat team with cool peeps chit-chatting back and forth. I love it!

Testing my syrup, eh? Some people don't want to try it because I collect the sap in repurposed kitty litter pails, you know, those 5-gallon yellow Tidy Cat buckets. Whatever. Let a little kitty litter scare you off?? Pfft. Actually, I triple wash them in a bleach solution first. I've got about 10 gallons from three taps since Monday. That'll get us a quart of syrup. I'll probably be boiling it down tomorrow. AFTER I row. Hehe.

Got my cool erg meter thingy for my iPhone. Love having it and jumped on the erg to test it out. Trimmed some serious seconds off my 500 meter pieces. Only thing is, I cannot figure out how to update the firmware. Won't download on my iPhone. :( I know my workouts are still barely warm ups for you vets, but I am making progress to the neglect of my kettle bell swinging. My drag factor was 90. Not sure yet about how to deal with that.

Well done Izz. ~ I want to be like Izz ~ :)

We tapped trees around our house when I was a kid. My dad took a 55 gal. barrel on its side and cut a notch out of it, then made a metal pan maybe 3' x 3' hard to remember he was probably still using lead solder back then :) We kept a fire going in the barrel to boil the sap. We skimmed off the bugs that landed in the sap and then strained the syrup through cheese cloth...I don't recall any bug parts making it to the pancakes or anything :D Hasn't affected me at all, I'm fine :? It was certainly all natural!

Thats an unfortunate let down Jim. Glad C2 is taking care of it but I've seen too many "reinforcement kits" around this state. Lots of duct tape and sheetrock screws.
