Rats. As we all know, the rosters for the teams are open for entry and exit until April 1st. We've been fortunate to gain folks, and we've also lost some folks. Meanwhile, RowPro is taking advantage of adding some team members and meters...so we dropped to 4th....but we are MERE METERS from 3rd place ! Go get 'em! It's all good, and for good fun. Onward, Luna-Tics! It's a supermoon tonight!

Some amazing rowing going on here! Great work by all - and thank you for rowing with us!

Watch for it at dusk....when the moon is estimated to be 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than a "usual" full moon !!! ....wear sunglasses at night... B)

Congratulations Ron, and welcome to the new members...

..and how was that moon last night! Saw it briefly, as we have overcast skies and rain. Perfect rowing weather, although a touch sore today as I did a hike over the 'hill' yesterday afternoon with 20kg pack in the rain (love that!), and boy am I feelng it right now!! TomO says 'suck it up Dad! - cheeky thing he is!!

Enjoy your evening/day...

March Madness reigns.....my monitor just shimmered back into sidereal space, and now I wonder if I've just dreamed that folks weren't here while we were in the matrix? They say illusions can occur....computers can be such tools of torture....! Never mind, we have a battle to row!

I remember Community Fitness Pointe....with one foop swell they have smacked us with their galactic gauntlet. Still, they are not THAT far ahead of us! Row, mates, row!

Wow, lot's going on around here the past days. Congratulations to the million meter boys, and welcome to the team to all who have come aboard just now.

Yeah, I was looking out for momma moose, just waiting for her to appear, but she never did show up. This guy had antler spots, not buds, so I am guessing he was a 2 year old. He was really skinny looking, which was probably why he ate all our apples up so eagerly, and the reason he was willing to come so close. We had the hot tub right there to get behind if he had decided to get up on the deck or come after us - which they can do. If he had had antlers or had been much bigger I would not have let Ben try to feed him from the hand - it would have been too risky.

Battle of the Ergs: Day 6/7

Post by Kona2 » March 20th, 2011, 11:43 am

Image Hooyah! Vernal Equinox!

We interrupt all the gauntlet tossing, meter snagging, row-like-crazy Battle of the Ergs, with a shout out for Spring! Can't wait to put the snowblower AWAY for the season - for some of our teammates, this is especially true! Our southern hemisphere teammates will be celebrating the Autumnal equinox instead - perhaps with a wistful look back at summmmmmmrr.

Day 6/7 finds us in fourth place - out of 202 teams - and nearing the THREE million meter milestone! There's some fine rowing going on here! Teams are still forming, and there will be some hooyah! moments. We'd like to be the ones shouting the hooyahs! :D

I just want to say thank you for all the motivation this board gives! I wanted to go by 1,000,000 slowly to reflect on what I have rowed since I started in December. I am in awe of the numbers our team member puts up and also other rowers on the board.
TMITWH.
Whoa....almost missed this one from TMITWH (aka The Man In The White Hat)! Back in an earlier episode, TMITWH left us with a cliffhanger...short of his 1,000,000th meter by less than 2K! Savoring the experience of that milestone - and to row one million meters just since December! Great rowing!

Another thing we celebrate here is first postings on the forum - and that was TMITWH's first. Dan S also made a first posting (and a subsequent!) recently. So hooyah! for posting on the boards - great to hear from everyone.

Lots of milestones to celebrate today! As always, doesn't matter if you row a little or a lot - just row!

Post by enrage » March 20th, 2011, 6:42 pm

quick question. I'm still in the 10km march madness challenge and haven't missed a day so far.
On the 24th my wife and I are expecting our 2nd child and I'll be with her at the hospital. If I complete two days worth of 10k daily meters before the 30th, am I still eligible for completing the 10k m March Madness Challenge even though I didn't do 25 days straight?

You only have to do 25 out of the 31 days, in any order. Congrats on the new baby

Good luck, although I'm sure we'll see you before the big event.....
