Madness ... Day 12
And the Madness continues! We have teammates still in pursuit of their March Madness Challenge Certificates - and 24 of those individuals are pursuing the advanced challenge of 10K or more for at least 25 days of March. How many lifelines do YOU have left?
FYI - continuing to see that individuals who belong to a team - any team - are staying on the progress board longer than those who do not belong to a team. Yesterday the overall percentage of team members on the progress board was just over 50 percent, and today it's up to 53 percent. And for those who are on the 10K+ progress board (dropped from 983 yesterday to 784 today), a whopping 63 percent of those individuals still on the 10K+ board belong to teams....

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Welcome, Dan R ! We have a good time on this team - here's wishing you many good rowing sessions as a Luna-Tic team member! We're currently on the moon (after working on this goal for 8 years!), and we'll be exploring it for some time since it took us so long to get here. Our journeys are long, and we're delighted to have you as a new team member.
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Welcome Dan R. Hope you enjoy your time with the Lun-atics as much as I have.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Thanks everyone for the great welcome you have given me.
I was a little nervous about joining without asking someone first.
I know that I will like it here, you seem like a great bunch of people.
I have just completed 13 days of the march madness challenge and hoping to go for all 31 days.

March Madness!
Day 13 (or 14 if you're on the forward side of the international date line)!
Whoop, whoop and hooyah! We're getting ready to perform some delicate lunar maneuvers of inserting the WORLD Erg Challenge into the midst of March Madness! All over the rowing universe, teams are gearing up to wage some great rowing battles in the third, and final, team challenge of the 2011 rowing season. Great that we've had a couple of weeks of prep time before jumping into the upcoming challenge!
Congratulations to the 36 Lunies still in the overall challenge, and the 22 Lunies hanging in there on the 10K+ challenge board. Keep rowing! You're becoming more an elite group every day that you stay on the boards!
For those of us watching the worldwide participation in March Madness, the number of rowers participating in the overall challenge dropped below 2000 for the first time today, and those participating in the 10K+ dropped to 661 rowers. These numbers may change a bit as individuals upload meters from over the weekend.
Season meters as of 316/365 = 109,817,649 m
Total meters on the day = 377,010 m
Oars in space (participation) = 27 percent

Yep, another episode of bunny trails of the mind....
March 14th is not only the 14th day of March Madness Challenge, it's 3.14, and is Pi Day! Pi, the math symbol you love to draw, is the number expressing the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. It begins with 3.14 and goes on into infinity. So, whether you celebrate pi Day with a slice of your favorite pie or pizza pie, or you include the numbers 314 in your row today (as Tony has done in the past), celebrate ! It's the best reason to have pie ever!
And the Madness Continues with 36 Luna-Tics hanging in there for the March Madness Challenge - and 23 of those challenging themselves to row 10K+ a day for 25 days! Woot!
NGO (number geek observation) = percent of remaining rowers who are on a team in overall challenge = 53 percent; percent of remaining rowers who are on a team in 10K+ challenge = 67 percent... more woot!
Season meters as of 317/365 = 110,338,399 m
Total meters on the day = 520,750 m ....gotta love it!
Oars in space (participation) = 30 percent
