Heck I row better when you're at the helm anyway!damselfly wrote:Hey, Mike, can you recruit some other truckers out there to erging? Looks like a pretty desolate place to work out, but at least it doesn't look like you were getting fumed!
Pirates have absconded with our intrepid Cap'n again, so I'll do Thursday numbers tomorrow AM. This time they dragged him into international waters, and it will take some time for the Navy Seals to craft a plan to retrieve him, so you've got ME cracking the whip for a while!
Just this morning I set a new Timbuktoo polar bear record -- 5K at ZERO degrees Fahrenheit! The only problem was every so often at the start of "the drive" the mechanism that catches the fly wheel doesn't engage and left me pulling against no resistance. As you can imagine its not a good thing to have happen. It results in all kinds of brain error warnings, equilibrium malfunctions and acrobatic like body contortions to regain your composure.
In the end ---> I have found the bottom. ZERO is TOO cold to ROW.

Thank you! My meters today will be a little lower as I did a 2k test. My 2k PR during the Fall Team Challenge was 8:58.8. I'm now down to 7:43.8! I can't go back and change where I started yesterday, but I can continue to work hard to change where I am tomorrow.damselfly wrote:Congratulations Andy on a season 2 MILLION!!! Woot!!

Damselfly, put me down for 250k!
I'm just trying to be consistent and set small challenges along the way (like Jan's 250K mission) which will serve as great cross training for the running and water polo seasons! I'm afraid that in a few months I'll be moving into the heart of the city and won't be able to take my Erg with me so enjoying as much workout time as possible before the gym judgery sets in....
You're having a great season too- fantastic inspiration to the rest of us!

Whoa! Way to row!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! You must take the erg with you. Leave other stuff behind -- clothes are over-rated, as are significant others, *** DELETE - SPAM *** appliances, etc. THE ERG IS LIFE!!!APM wrote:I'm afraid that in a few months I'll be moving into the heart of the city and won't be able to take my Erg with me so enjoying as much workout time as possible before the gym judgery sets in....
YIKES!!!!!! And considering your erg house is about, what, 6 feet off the ground? I'd be all kinds of hurt if this happened to me!TMike wrote:The only problem was every so often at the start of "the drive" the mechanism that catches the fly wheel doesn't engage and left me pulling against no resistance. Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Hi Karen! You've joined our challenge team, TimBukTWO -- which is just for team challenges like the VTC. You haven't (yet) joined our year-round affiliation, TimBukTOO. It's really confusing! The post you quote just reports meters for the affiliation. If you see the next post (the text is in shades of blue to distinguish challenge posts from the others), you'll see your meters.giftogab wrote:I logged on Fiday but don't appear on the list.
We'd certainly love to have you year-round as well! To join the affiliation, visit your Edit Profile page, scroll down to almost the bottom, and see the stuff under the Affiliation heading. Select TimBukTOO from the list, and save your settings. Then you'll be set! Let me know if you have any trouble...
