LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 2.24.11
Welcome to the team, Benny! We're glad to have you with us and wish you many good rowing sessions!
March Madness is almost upon us !
Hooboy! It's that time of year when EVERYONE is just a little bit Irish! You, too, could be Hall of Famers in this sport of rowing - row either a 5K or a 10K (do the 10K if you want to cover the bases) for each of 25 of the 31 days in March...and you're in! A word of caution..... Be on the lookout for those leprechauns....mischevious imps...
Incentives and Rewards (as written up in the Concept2 web site) - because this team is driven by these....it would be marvelous if we had a couple of March Madness winners!
■Prize drawings are held every day from all the people who have rowed/skied at least 5000 meters that day and entered it in their online logbook. The more days you row/ski 5000 meters, the more you increase your chances of winning!
■On randomly selected days during March, we will draw for an additional prize from those who row/ski at least 10,000 meters.
■Prizes vary from day to day, but will include Concept2 clothing, heart rate monitors and some surprises!
■Drawings are held at (or soon after) noon each weekday for the previous day, so be sure to enter your meters promptly! We will post names of winners on the web site. Winners will be encouraged to send a photo and brief story to be posted as well.
■Hall of Fame—All those who are on-track for rowing/skiing at least 5000 meters at least 25 days during the month of March will be listed in the March Madness Progress Board and will be able to download a specially designed certificate.
And, yes, our popular team hangout will indeed be open during March. We'll be checking all the IDs at the door, and definitely will have some virtual beverages that everyone can enjoy. Get ready to row strong (wait...we're doing that!), and have a virtual quaff at the Sham Rock!
Season meters as of 300/365 = 114,506,709 m
Total meters on the day = 626,943 m
Oars in space (participation) = 29 percent

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
I got really busy with school. And then my PM broke. Then my boyfriend got me going to the gym where they don't even have a rowing machine *tear* Theeeeen when my dad sold his house I wound up with a bunch of boxes piled around and didn't have any room to fold out my erg.
I'm still busy with school, but everything else has been fixed How is everyone doing? There are a lot of new faces on the team page, so welcome everyone who I haven't met!
I can foresee a lot of questions about the PM. What happened was first the battery pack started to go, but it would still turn on when I was rowing. But then when I went to upload my metres by plugging in the usb cable it turned off and wouldn't turn back on even if I was rowing. I tried putting regular batteries in but it still wouldn't come on, even if it was plugged in or I was rowing. I tried the trouble shooting steps but nothing was working (I'd accidentally left it in direct sunlight so I figured I'd killed it) and the new ones are 250 dollars so I got pretty discouraged about it. Then the other day I tried it again and it suddenly started working, and it's come on every time since then.

Surprise, indeed! We knew you were off in your secret laboratory, Kiba - and it's great to hear from you!
No surprise that everyone helps celebrate milestones for other team members in different ways. Kiba gifted us with virtual celebration cupcakes (when time allowed) - these were quite popular and probably inspired a few baking sessions. No expectations that virtual cupcaking continues btw - well, Minnie (aka Chris) might have some thoughts about moon cupcakes....
Lots and lots of milestones coming up - exciting stuff !

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
So far, we have 33 participants signed on with the Luna-Tics World Erg Challenge team! If you haven't signed up, take a minute to go to your logbook, scroll across the top to "teams" and click on the link that enrolls you in the World Erg Challenge....while this sounds somewhat like WWE Smackdown and Wrestling Mania....it's really the final team-based challenge of the rowing season. It runs from March 15 to April 15...and it's going to be absolutely terrific! Join us!

... I'm wondering if Timmy the Space Gerbil is still logging meters with you? And your wolfie/huskey eyed K9? I have an overpowering urge to order a pizza to fuel this evening's row ... but draw the line at ham and pineapple. (See what an impression you made, back when!)
