I, too, am waiting to see what kind of 500K hot tub AJ has created for himself.....

I keep inviting him to join me in my hot red bathtub, but he says that the flags are all wrong for him.

(The bathtubs originated because I really-really want to remodel our master bathroom and include a soaking tub ... I think that the 500K virtual version may be the closest thing I get.)

I just finished getting updated on all the conversation for the past 3-4 days. Seems my email program is doing a subpar job of notifying me when there is a new post. So mass congratulation to all the mile-stone makers, to many to name but ou know who you are. And welcome to all new comers.

Just a quick observation on seat cushions. I have tried everything and so far the best solution is a 14.5" x 9.5" x 4" piece of memory foam. It seems a little weird when you first sit down but by the time you have strapped your feet in it has compressed and gives a comfortable yet solid base to sit on. I also cover it with a small towel. Hope this helps.

You guys and gals are putting up some amazing numbers for this challenge! Wish I had been available for the whole thing.

Wow, AJ, the bathtub lineup looks really cool! I plan to be jumping into mine today. Thanks to the amazing camaraderie and support this whole team provides here in the Team Room (not to mention the graphics teasers to go farther and farther), I have rowed more meters in this challenge than I ever thought possible for myself. Thanks to all!

Another Tandem Canoe!

Post by Kona2 » January 30th, 2011, 8:39 pm

Crowds line the shores when our ArMOONda sets sail - and there are always great exclamations of wonder when one of our tandem canoes glides by..! How cool that their pact of "we can do this!" landed Richard and G-l-o-r-i-a in their canoe today!

Congratulations, G-l-o-r-i-a and Richard, on achieving the 100,000 m milestone in the Virtual Team Challenge! May your canoe travel swiftly in these competitive waters!

Two very significant events happened on this day that effect the Luna-Tics.

1958: The United States entered the Space Age with its first successful launch of a satellite into orbit, "Explorer One."

1961: Ham the chimp is 1st animal sent into space by the US

Can you believe that was 50 years ago????
And contrary to my grandkids opinions, Ham was NOT my brother,he was my half brother actually.

Virtual Team Challenge

Post by DUCKMARX » January 31st, 2011, 10:27 am

I was looking at the statistics last night (obviously with the my eye geared for LUNA-tic 'Atta-a-Mateys!') when I noticed something that you might like to know:

:) There are 4,205 people actively involved in the Virtual Team Challenge.
B) I looked at the top 1% based on meters rowed.
:D There are 7 LUNA-tics in this elite group of 42:

Jay Cathie Ray Jerry Chip Will Ron

WOOT! WOOT!

FYI, The Ancients, a team of 50, also have 7 . . . but most impressive, The Overcoming Disabilities Team, a team of only 15, have 8!

HOOYAH! . . . for all 3 teams and, more importantly, for our 7 outstanding teammates!

Awesome Aussie Finish!

Post by Kona2 » January 31st, 2011, 10:38 am

What an awesome finish for the Aussies! Baz crosses the 300K milestone, and Dave H climbs into a canoe! I believe Angelo will update his meters today, too! Way to row a great Challenge - certainly one for our record books!

Congratulations, Dave H, on achieving the 100,000 m milestone in the Virtual Team Challenge and climbing into your canoe! Woot! Woot!
