Whoa...I feel faint...even for cartoon blood, that's realistic!

Well done to both David A and Ron M - and others who are blood donors on the team! I'm pretty sure AJ is one of those!

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 1.19.11

Post by Kona2 » January 20th, 2011, 1:00 pm

Buckle up! We're zooming along - lunar surface near!

With a good rowing day (and they are ALL good rowing days :D ), we could see 83 million team meters today! We could see one or more million meter season milestones (including one that is one of the fastest on record, Jay...). Today being day 265 on the rowing year, we have 100 days to deliver our best rowing season ever with a lunar landing, and a tour of the moon's surface will surely bring. Kind of exciting to be in sight of a goal we've pursued for many years!

Image

Visualizing completion of our first goal..... :D

Total Meters to Lunar Landing: 12,877,864 m

Season meters as of 264/365 = 82,360,244 m

Total meters on the day = 663,895 m

Oars in space (participation) = 33 percent!

Image Red Giant for Chip with a posting of 52,109 m
Image Jay continues to moon us (good celebration of last night's full moon!) and crosses into the 900K territory! He should be blasting by any moment now!
Image Big half moon plus some for Ron....hooboy, those number gnomes have been quite active in Vermont...ImageImageImageImageImage m
Image Jerry earns a half moon plus a lot with a posting of 26,000 m
Image Professor Johnny earns a half moon, NARROWLY avoids the number gnomes (must be his understanding of mathmatics that keeps him safe!), and posts 22,524 m
Image Kristine is beset by number gnomes, two, also, too, et tu ImageImageImageImageImage m
Image Cathie earns a half moon with her posting of ImageImageImageImageImage m ...says she sees stars after the gnome encounter...

I bet we will be going back and forth with them all day today. I just posted my meters for the day, and the boys are both doing their rowing right now, which will put us ahead of them again for a few seconds anyways.

As the movie script reads..."we will not go quietly!" Hooyah, Lunies! We need all kinds of meters....and, hey! this could set Tim up for a rowing marathon so he can add to his medal collection!

Ah, ID4, one of my annual movies. Loved that speech! The stress of this year's JVC might require that I have a second glass of Chianti with our pizzeria dinner tonight. (And then come home and row!)

A Comment For Those Who Read Our Blog

Post by Kona2 » January 21st, 2011, 1:57 pm

When reading another team's forum pages, I think the question has to be asked "what are you looking for?" Competition is an interesting animal - sometimes it brings out the best in people, and sometimes it brings out some genuine mean-spiritedness. To those that read our blog, yes - we're goofy. Yes, we're having fun. No, we're not having fun or trying to motivate our team by making fun of others - whether it be their language, their physical capabilities, or their goofy humor. The forum pages are open for the rowing world to read - what we write is a reflection of our teams, and of ourselves as people. When others make fun of us in their team pages, the word does indeed travel through the rowing community. As has been called out in recent times, let's put away the hurtful words and work towards building a positive rowing community.
