OUCH. This sounds like something invented by a sadist who thought, hey -- I could charge for this! Congratulations on the skinny jean score, and kudos for bringing fresh meat to the team! How'd your buddy score a FREE C2?

Apparently another good buddy has had a C2 sitting in his garage for some time now just gathering dust. Can you believe that?!?damselfly wrote:OUCH. Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Okay. Mission accomplished. 9x5k + the tenth 5k was 10x500m warmup/recovery/cool down sessions. Total of 50k for the day.
New PR for 5k in the second to last session 19:56.5 (1:59.6)
I now have a new found respect for that 81 year old who broke the record at 150k in one day. Congratulations anonymous elderly person. Congratulations.
Now.
A nap.

This sounds just awful.bcurry wrote:So he has been employing a technique called the Graston technique. Over several sessions he uses some metal tools, rubbing them into my muscle tissue, to break up the scar tissue and return to healthy full functioning muscle fibers, blood flow, nerves, etc. I am still at the front end of the process but I will post pictures this weekend of my shoulder. I do not bruise easily but this process of breaking up the scar tissue causes some serious bruising though it hasn't been as painful as it will look when you see pictures - more to come! This stuff I find fascinating. Apparently he says I should see a real increase in stamina and endurance as we work it out. Any of you ever heard of this or had this done?
pictures to come this weekend - new session this evening so the bruises will be nice and fresh!
If anyone tried to use this Graston technique on me, I would probably deck him.
Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
So this Team NAS Pensacola is now ahead of us. They have 363 people on the team and they rowed an average of about 17k.
17k average!
I am so incredibly underwhelmed right now

The part that impresses me is the new personal best for 5k in the second to last 5K-19:56! Holy ^%&$!!!
Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Thank you Lisa and blacksmith.
I was actually going after progressively better splits for each of the first 8 active sessions, which culminated with the PR. The 9th session was just a cool down - there was no way I was going to try to get a second PR; I was really spent by then.
