About this time last year, Danno was injured (torn bicep?)...moving a tv the "size of Rhode Island" is how I believe Minnie put it. He rigged up a way to row....and of course I wanted pictures...he can probably tell you more about it....rsdavr wrote:Kristine, what a great idea on the torso halter. But what about the idea of pulling the chain with one arm while the other one heals. Has anyone ever done that?

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Here's an idea we could try this year: BYOB.....So if you want to sip on something at the LUNA-TICS New Year's Eve virtual party, make your own post about what you are drinking, why you like it, and what it looks like if you want to post a pic (not required)...parents will have to assist the youngsters in their respective tribes with this, but that's okay.macbruce1 wrote:On the Mixology Front, I am hoping that someone more qualified will step in. I feel woefully inadequate for this due to my ignorance of different beverages and the pitiful state of my computer knowledge K2 does such a wonderful job posting our stats, etc. I do not want the team disapointed with a lackluster performance.

For anyone wishing to post a photo, first you must upload it to a hosting site such as http://www.photobucket.com. Create a free account, upload your photo to it in a medium to small format (pre-set that before uploading), and then copy the link provided for you under the uploaded photo (the one labeled IMG code), then paste it into your forum post as you write it. One thing though - don't use the IMG button in the forum editor or you will "double code" your picture, and it might not post. If you experience trouble, check to see if you have a double coding (the stuff in [brackets])
Let's call this a command decision just handed down from the bridge to make it official:
Between now and New Year's Day, all hands coming to the LUNA-TICS virtual New Year's Eve Party, post a blurb about what you are going to be sipping on for the evening. And if anyone is bringing some vittles to share, why not put up a picture/recipe for that, too. Let's have some fun, and see what party foods people are eating all over the known Universe. Let the Party Preparations begin!

Regarding rolling on tennis balls - it hurts just to think about it. Would a basketball suffice?

I like that "Buy Local" theme idea. How about "Buy Local" and/or "Buy Heritage" just to give a little more wiggle room?

Holy smoke, Luna Herd ... have y'all seen the mega-meters that some of these new young rowers are posting! Very impressive ... I applaud your efforts!
Just what is a young reindeer called? ... and why am I humming "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" to myself ... ?

Tenis ball is perfect, small enough to do the job, soft enough to hurt only a little.....BBB

Woohoo! Ted is Pluto....
Whoa....thought the stable had been a little quiet...! With a fine meter update today, Ted raced to the reindeer stable...and freed Pluto (named for the almost planet, and not the cartoon character) for sleigh duty! Antlers rattling, and hooves high fivin'....the herd approves!
Woohoo! Congratulations, Ted, on achieving the 100K Holiday Challenge Honor Board and claiming your reindeer! Lights are next, and you're one-quarter of the way there!
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Take a minute, go to your logbook, go across to teams, and click on the link that signs you up to row with the Luna-Tics team in the January Virtual Team Challenge. This team has been a solid contender for many, many years - and each year the battle lines are drawn quite early. This year will be no exception - it's going to be a fight to place in the top five - and we need YOU to be part of this team. There will be hooyah moments!
