Sinead here!

I'm wishing you all good luck in the Holiday Challenge. You could do 100,000m while I do 50,000m.
:o

For those who don't know, Sinead is my 10 year old daughter who started erging last year. She decided she wants to try for the kids 50,000m challenge. That will be a challenge for her. She'll need to average about 2k a day until this is over. Kona, keep those soccer balls coming for her. She loves them. Thanks! Karyn

Stewball? So, next we have to find words to old Peter, Paul & Mary songs!?

Woohoo and hooyah! Congratulations, Lunies, we've rowed FORTY-EIGHT million team meters !

And just as a heads up, somehow, some way, we manage as a team to end the rowing year with an average of ONE million meters per team member. Some row enough to cover the meters for five other rowers, some hit their first million meter or two million meter seasons (my first two million meter season was just last year). So....no pressure! Really. It just happens. We have the January Virtual Teams Challenge beginning almost immediately after the Holiday Challenge. Then there's the Valentine's Day Challenge. Then March Madness. Then the World Rowing Challenge...as you can see, we will be motivated every single month to row, row, row (even if you only row September - March, new team member Robert, you will make your one million meters!). So whoop whoop and go get those meters....we need to maintain a team average of 338,000 m per day for the last 150 days of the 2011 rowing season. Five months of wonderment!

Image Whoa....what would Santa do without Rudolph?! Blazing headlamps! If we hadn't designated Rudolph for the junior rowers, you'd be given that reindeer name, Ron! Ingenuity wins again...! I've been on a few Cycle Oregon treks where some folks were not prepared for how dark is dark in rural areas on a moonless night.....lot of Marco.....Polo......Marco ..... Polo being called out as the bikers tried to find their campsites in the dark...but, I digress from reindeer!

Sinead,

As a retired soccer coach, yes one more skill in my bag of tricks and that would be football to 27 and AJ, I know for a fact anyone that likes soccer can easily do 50 K in a month. Not to worry Kona will keep track and let everyone know when you reach your goal. All the Loonies are rooting for you.

Woohoo and congratulations, Kenneth G, on releasing JOKER for sleigh duty. Now we know that the Joker is wild, so you will have your work cut out for you getting that reindeer ready for the serious work ahead!

Hang on! The word's just in: For those who are successful at attaining the 50 or 200K level required for "THE PIN", flying lessons will be offered for those reindeer!

Thanks for that.....and it has felt like a marathon to get back to 10k average a day. Our 4 week holidays mid year wreaked havoc with that! Actually enjoying a Coopers Stout at Newcastle (150ks North of Syd-a-ney) at sister-in-laws as I write! So not sure how much rowing will be done tomorrow!!!

Good weekend to all, BBB
