I hope I remember how to do this posting thing… Here goes nothing!
Jerry H & Walter W have dived overboard again… Like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day, I will keep doing this until I get it right! 10 of our 47 members (21%) logged 138,793 total meters Wednesday!

Milestones achieved: Rob M eclipsed 200K!!
Approaching milestones: David nearing 2.5M (-38,699m), Jim a warm-up from 1.3M (-2,000m), John a hop, skip & jump from 700K (-9,519m), Andy a minor federal investigation from 600K (-16,349m) & Gary D is near 100K (-7,980m)!

Posted Meters:
David W - 42,255 What the heck was that?!
Rob M - 20,704
Who WAS that masked man?
Jim C - 15,999 Evening things out…
John S - 15,263 Long!
Andy I - 10,100 The streak continues!

Lisa H - 10,049 Three in a row!
Keith J - 9,305 At least 8 in a row!
Adam M - 8,000 Sweet!
Gary D - 5,000 Nice!
Fred B - 2,118 That’s four!

Now that Izz is back:  vacation? what?
I demand an investigation into these meters! I cannot compete with this. I demand that blood tests be performed by the IOC, FBI, CIA, US Rowing, Canadian Taxidermy Club, and (if he has enough blood left) one of those governing bodies that went after Major League Baseball or Lance Armstrong.

Of course, all of this will take time. I don't expect to see any results until after FTC.

In all seriousness (if possible) - we have some amazing rowers on this team. The meters (and times) are both humbling and motivating.

Andy

That is just to funny I guess until I find a job, this is about all I have to do, well I have a long list of honey do's from Yolanda.... that list just keeps getting longer so instead of doing her list I would do my own.... :-)

Like Lance and Phelps I have given so much blood... I am sure some one is selling it..... :P :P

I've been there - almost a year and a half for me. My wife will tell you that I was worthless during that time, but she might say that about me now. :D

David,

I was laid off at the end of last year as well. It was highly recommended that i take up some form of exercise for my sanity - or was it for my wife's sanity, I can't recall. I'd had the rower for probably 3 years already and had only put about 150k meters on it in total.

Hey Brent, just do like I do and don't even LOOK! :D

Thinking about doing a half tomorrow evening (hubby is out) to help put Dog Days to bed. It will probably be very slow!

Yes, please. (Four if you count the warm up rows) On thursday a customer at work told us he was so happy with the work we had done at his house, he would be grilling up some hotdogs for lunch on friday for us. Dilemma...I haven't had a hotdog in 4 years as I've been dropping tonnage, and, HOTDOGS! how happy can he be? Anyways he's a nice old fella and a couple 'dogs wouldn't kill me I'll just row more, that will kill me instead. Between thurs. night and fri. I did 38,000 meters- about 2 1/2 hours...hopefully thats a calorie deficit.
I'm from Vermont...I'll do what I want

As others on the board have mentioned, there are two philosophies: "Rowing to Eat" and "Eating to Row".

"Rowing to Eat" means that you proactively create the caloric deficit, so that when you have a "hotdog opportunity" you can partake guilt-free (unless you overdo it, and then you are "Eating to Row"). It also means always going about feeling hungry, in a perpetual fast.

"Eating to Row" means that after a "hotdog opportunity" presents itself, you now feel guilty and are compelled to row to offset the calories. So here you are always going about with guilt.

So depending on which philosophy you adhere to, you're either going about feeling hungry or feeling guilty!
