And, lastly or maybe firstly in this season of giving, raising charitable dollars through your rowing efforts will give you a whole new perspective on what it takes to raise FIVE dollars (you'll think about this the next time you make a donation) ! And what it means to get your 2 cents worth! Concept2 outlines who gets the dollars, where the dollars go and how we generate those.

Support a Good Cause with Your Meters!
As in the past two years, we have selected several charities to choose from for those who wish to allocate their meters to a good cause. This year, the theme is water—protection of this resource for both health and conservation.

For every person who rows or skis at least 100K during the challenge, Concept2 will donate $.02 for every kilometer (1000 meters) you accumulate to your choice of the following organizations: Row 100K....generate $2.00

■Water For People
■International Rivers
■charity: water
And once you get beyond 100K, we'll donate $.04 per kilometer. Our goal through this group effort is to reach a total $30,000 to support these causes. The usual prizes of pin and certificate will still be awarded as well. Note: For kids and adaptive athletes, the $.04 rate will take effect at 50K.In recent years, we have had around 5000 people participate in the Holiday Challenge! We are hoping to reach 6000 this year, so we invite you to tell your friends about this opportunity to keep fit and support a great cause. Recruit, recruit, recruit...and ask them to join our team while you're at it!

I'm back!!!

For those who don't know my name, I'm a rower who is primarily on the water from April to November. Since I spend my time on the water, I don't erg much during those months. I am off the water, so I'm back on the erg.

Happy Thanksgiving to all and Happy Erging this Holiday Challenge.

BAzz way to go on the 2 Mill, you sure are a busy guy.

Hope all you Loony's had a great Thanksgiving with lots of family, friends and food.

I waddled into the erg this morning and got a few meters in hoping it would counter-act the calories consumed yesterday. Had a serious case of sugar blues when I went to bed but am feeliing better after the row.

Where my mind goes while I'm waiting...

Post by cdykstra01 » November 27th, 2010, 12:05 am

To the tune of "Sounds of Silence"... Simon and Garfunkle will never forgive me

Hello logbook my old friend
I’ve come to check some meters in
Because I’ve worked real real hard
You can tell by looking at my card

But when I go
To try and log in… to my chagrin (and it’s after 10!)

You’re still down for repairs

I dare anyone to put a second verse on this

On my erg I pulled alone
Awaiting Vermont’s dial tone
'Neath the flywheel and the reading lamp
I was sweating and my hair was damp
When at last it was six o’clock at night
So C2’s back, is that not right?
… but, still, the sound of silence.
