Howdy K2..no, they usually strike out west further in the grain and rural areas, although TomO went by earlier and headed for the fridge, a quick check of what was left confirms we may very well be under seige!

Very wet weekend in Sydney....bring back the sun....Please! B)

Coming to a star near us .... it's World Space week! Today marks the anniversary of the Sputnik launch - one of the two events used to bookend the time frame for this galactic celebration. There are a series of FAQs listed on several browser sites, so if it pops up on your internet provider page ... take a look!! And don't forget your headlamps on this lunar journey, you'll need it to light your way since we need atmosphere to reflect light.....otherwise it's Marco....Polo....Marco....Polo....and since "they" say there's no sound in space....who would hear us?! Scary thoughts...

We have two red giants, a full moon and three or four half moons shining on the crew today! Amazing amount of meters in the last couple of weeks as we weather this first team challenge of the 2011 rowing season....yes, there are indeed TWO more team challenges!

Hi Jan - as BBB said, the hoppers are a long way from Sydney. Not a pleasant thing to live with - beyond the obvious decimation of any vegetation they come acrosss. Drive a car through a swarm and they can clog radiators/ coat windscreens with their splatter (had a friend who parked his car in a small garage after a weekend trip to a swarm area, and almost puked when he opened the garage door several hot summer days later! ). Hopefully the authorities and farmers can keep the lid on them this year, the season has otherwise been a great one for our grain-belt (been a long time between drinks for them!).
Apologies for being a part-time team-member - far too busy with work stuff for my own good. The HM was my rebellion at having to work through our long weekend. Happy to say the shoulder is standing up pretty well! I have pushed it a few times now, increasing pace and duration without any big negatives... I just need to get the routine back into gear to add more regular erging time to the schedule. B)

Congrats to all on the multitude of achievements, and as ever I echo the thanks for the tireless K2 in her support and drive that keeps this team ticking!

Cheers,
Dave

Fall Challenge Update

Post by Kona2 » October 5th, 2010, 3:52 pm

Image Fall Challenge Spot !

Woohoo! I see an EIGHT million meter team mark up ahead in the not too distant future! What a team! What a day! There are 27 teammates now who have completed at least 100K....that's amazing, awesome and appreciated! And it's also 40 percent. For those of us who haven't quite cracked that barrier just yet - hey there's still time without hitting the proverbial rowing wall !

Challenge meters as of today = 7,811,419 m

Total meters on the day = 451,295 m

THANKS for every meter!
