I have done 14 on the bounce and have to do 4 more monday to thurday this week to qualify.

It is begining to tell, meterages are dropping!

Work does get in the way of rowing or I could have had a rest day a week and a bonus.

That's my brother Heather. He's 6 years older than me, lives in NC. Bought the erg in Feb, as of last week he had already lost 10 lbs or so! I tried recruiting him...once in person and a couple e-mails, says he doesn't row enough to be of any good to us I told of the great motivation, and that he could probably double the number of native Vermonters on the team ... didn't work. Maybe he'll join for the next challenge or we'll sic Capt. Izz on him!

Am I getting a reputation as a pit bull or something?!

If this is really about that "he doesn't row enough to be of any good to us" - then that's the point that WE would be most good for HIM. Then, as he climbs up the ranks, he'll be able to give as much or more than he gets.
But if this is about him not wanting to be thoroughly thrashed by his "little" brother, he'll have to work that one out by himself!
(Yes, part of the reason I like the C2 so much is its calorie burn. I burn about 1,150 per hour on the C2, 1,000 on the stair climber, 900 on the eliptical, 750 on the stationary bike, and 650 on the treadmill. Then, my body is still radiating heat for another half hour after a good row, which may add another 40-50 calories expended.)

Likewise for me. I figure about ~3600 calories every three hours that I row. For me that is roughly two pounds' worth of calories each week.
