I hear ya on the "Is C2 about never-ending challenges?!?!" Seems like it! But take those you want and leave the rest. You're doing this for YOU, and if you overdo it or start not to enjoy it, that's bad!!

Regarding the wrist and thumb, have a look at how you're gripping the handle. Don't get a death-grip going on the thing. Your four fingers should be "hooking" the handle without gripping hard, and your thumb can go to the movies for all the work it does. You can let your fingers relax and even wiggle them about during the recovery phase (when you're moving the seat back up to the next catch).

Many of us have "NewGrip" weight-lifting gloves and really like them. http://www.newgrip.com/rowing.html

P.S. I have developed carpal tunnel recently and now row with a right wrist brace. That seems to help a lot.

Just cranked out a new PB on the 30 minute (8255m); now sitting at the 95th percentile for my age/weight. The bummer is I wasn't planning to try for a PB so I started off slow. I'm sure I could've hit 8300. Next time!

"Keith one row from 900K (-8,385m), "

Possibly not, March Madness is killing me!

Lost two days on business with no access to a C2 early in the month and the same probably will happen on 30th /31st, I had one day on the Xtrainer for a change which leaves one rest day- and I've had it :(

Promising myself a gentle 5 or 6k.

We'll see.

A year ago I was diagnosed with high cholesterol. I went to the doctor today for my checkup. Big improvement from diet and rowing alone - no drugs!

My numbers were / are:

Total: was 258, is now 190
LDL: was 205, is now 121
HDL: was 38, is now 57
Triglycerides: was 120, is now 60
Blood sugar: was 95, is now 90

Plus my weight has dropped from 235lbs to 210lbs in the same year. I am very happy with the results :D and I remain prescription drug free! Diet and exercise are the best medicine, at least for me.

Lots of soluble fiber (oats, flaxseed, chia seed), nuts, fatty fish, olive oil, vegetables, dark chocolate, red wine, etc. Basically the Mediterranean / Japanese diet. And for the last four months - rowing like a madman!

This testimony to diet and exercise shows there is power in both regarding your health. As a Certified Personal Trainer I have been making these things my way of teaching and living.Good healthy, clean eating and lots of exercise with minimal dependence on drug therapy.Sometimes it is necessary but with good lifestyle changes and behavior modification we can change our health status and become fit!!
Row strong team!!!

To celebrate, I am going to eat some pizza or barbecue this weekend, but then back to eating like an herbivore after that. :|

I rode the wave of euphoria I am on and rowed a 10k in 36:28.6, putting me at the 96th percentile. Nice! Maybe i'll add a bag of Doritos to my celebratory feast!
