TimbukTOO Team Room
Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Hi
Glad to be made welcome!
The Nonathalon link is http://nonathlon.com if anyone fancies it next season
Basically log a score to count on all the 10 concept2 recognised distances .5k,1k,2k,5k,6k,10k, 30min, 1hour, half marathon and marathon. They then apply some incredibly complicated formula to acknowledge age weight and gender differences and you end up ranked, best 9 scores to count but you get 100 bonus for completing the ten.
Got until the end of the season to try for the marathon but as I may noy be able to access a machine after the 13th my attempt will have to fall intio the challenge period, so even if I blow out it should score in excess of 21k wouldn't want to fail below that having already done it that is why I am trying for a realistic time not a quick one.
I struggle with the sprints!

I still have a slight pinch in my back, but it's just about all better. I was getting bored doing 12k-15k every day at a moderate pace, so I decided to go at about 95% effort for a 5k just for some fun. Cranked it out in 17:57.5, moved up 20 slots to the 93rd percentile. Very happy!Izzzmeister wrote:Wow, it took me 2 years to break 18 minutes! If you can do 18:01 in a longer row, you can beat 18 minutes now! So, will you re-enroll in UNH?
As much as I'd love to go back to college, I am already putting one child through college now and next year will have two in college at the same time.
Good luck to you all in the upcoming world erg challenge!

Just remember that we're all totally serious and do not allow any messing around, particularly when it comes time to start laying down meters for the world erg challenge. Wait...where have I been for the last week? Seems like I was rowing and then...<insert small furry rodent reference here even though it's getting old and I need some new material>CONLEJM wrote:Welcome aboard Keith! Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Been away from the boards for a bit...are we doing individual challenges within the team for this challenge?
I'm back on the water which makes it hard to erg every day. That said, I'm going to try to do at least 125,000 and go from there. Tomorrow even though I'll be on the river, I MUST erg 10,565 in order to break the 3 million mark for my lifetime meters!!!
A quote I've read on line sums up my life perfectly.... "I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it!!"

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Sorry I haven't pushed the WEC the past few days, but they've been hectic...The WEC has already started, and we only have 33 signed up...
I'm aiming again for 300K myself, but I'm also aiming for 60 team members on TimbukTWO, so... please sign up for the WEC, please let us know if you want us to track your goals, please join the discussion.
I will try to e-mail all the TimbukTWOers that are part of the team yet haven't signed up for the WEC, and get some more involvement. I will also try to do my first row of the WEC without busting my stitches today.
Thanks to Pat M for being the first to row, let's all follow her lead!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Well..I may have been the Pole setter..as in a Nascar race..first to race against the checkered flag however as in any race we sometimes end up in the back of the pack.Pit Stops and cautions..so watch for me to slow down a bit..along the way..the many meters this challenge will take us.I used to be a front runner..millions of meters in a month. Can't keep my engines tuned for that..so as Tim Allen said as the Grand Master in Vegas last weekend.."Let's fire these babies up"..let's row and at least finish!!

What the heck. Put me down for 300k even though I'm going to be gone for a week over spring break and my job has really heated up. Wait...deja vu...

After nursing my arm for the past couple of weeks, I am hoping that I am fit and healthy, so please put me down for 400k as my WEC goal. Depending on the actual state of my health, I will revise that either up or down half way through.
So sorry to hear about all the sniffles, pinches, and punctures (ouch!); fortunately, all these are temporary inflictions and we'll all be sweating at the oars again.
Welcome to all the new members! I hope the challenge encourages you to think about joining our year-round affiliation. We had a lot of fun during the Christmas and January challenges, with a lot of chuckles and inventive graphics posted.
Good luck to all,
Heather

Here we are at the start of the 2012 World Erg Challenge... ... And, they're off!!
(I like how the second baby in the purple lane is trying to draft the first one -- though air quality may be an issue with that tactic... )
So, for individual challenges, so far I have ...
Challenge Goals - Day 1 of 32 (3.1%):
Jamie B - 10,565 of 125,000 (8.5%)
Jim C - 15,000 of 540,000 (2.8%)
Glen B - 5,000 of 300,000 (1.7%)
Lisa H - 0 of 113,000 (0.0%)
Yisroel H - 0 of 300,000 (0.0%)
Not sure about Jim's -- Please all do let me know what your goal is, or correct the above.
Izz, do we have a team goal?
I'm not sure about a team trip... depends if we have a team goal or not and what it is... hard to tell with folks missing from the challenge team. So, SIGN UP!
