Finally! Sheesh indeed... Great write up; hope it attracts new members. Now I have to admit I have seldom read the postings of other weekly winners, which won't sound that out of character when I admit that I had no idea about the team forums until the Cap'n brought me aboard last November; which may also explain the head in the sand for the past two days. Had to clock out for awhile...the one I really wanted to post (but couldn't because of copyright) was one where the ostrich had its head in a bucket labelled "In case of fire", with a raging inferno in the background. BUT...I kept rowing, my sanity saver.

In catching up, thank you to all those posting the crazy pictures; laughter is wonderful. The Iron ass award; Mr Bean; the ostrich (or possibly emu), Later I shall have pie.... I actually saw the ostrich first thing this morning and laughed so much I choked on the sand; very sweet. Sorry for being such a sour puss.

Re the challenge: I said a few posts ago that I am heading for 600K (can't let David have all the glory, not now that I've gone this far = WELL DONE DAVID!), so I should get there doing 20K/day from now until Monday with a day off on Saturday. Not taunting anyone here; just doing my thing; rowing stabilizes my day--but man, 32K x 3 days or whatever it was sure burned the calories; I could see the difference; my kilt should fit by March. (All credit goes to Mark E, for forcing me to catch up with him  ). Maybe I'll have another go at it--next month.

Welcome to all the newcomers; hope you have as much fun as I have had since joining.

Forgot to add, not long ago Izzy posted something about no music/tv while erging to concentrate on his form. So, I watched one of the you-tube things on form, and realized my shins were going far beyond vertical at the start of a stroke. Yesterday I started to pay attention to my form-made sure my heels don't rise off the footpad so my I don't go to far forward, pause a hair before pulling, etc. To make a long story short, I got a lot more of a workout than usual-my abs were sore this A.M. So I did it again, paying attention to form and did 22k-I can definitely feel the difference in how my muscles get worked more and better when I pay attention closely to my form. I do need to leave the tube on just for sanitys sake though. It is just to boring to row in the dark without something to distract my mind from wandering into strange places   .

I'm hoping to hit 450k. That'll average out to about 15k a day, which is pretty darn good for me.

I am hoping everyone has good success in achieving their goals! Go Team - we're almost in sunny warm Florida!
