No pb
Kona2 - Not even close to a pb. These month long, every day, day after day rowing grinds; just put me in a rowing rut in survival mode at a heart rate pace of not more than 140. And it is actually pretty tough for me to break out of that HR plateau after rowing so long at that pace. So that 18K puts me in a sustainable moderately low mode for a long, long duration (80 minutes) for me, but doesn't really do much except burn up about 1100 calories. It's kind of like settling into a 20 plus mile all day paddle and holding plenty of energy back in reserve should the wind pick up in the afternoon.

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 3.27.10
Today's moon is waxing gibbous...82 percent full...how nice for the lunar phases to line up with this week's completion of March Madness! 17 LunaTics still on the boards in this challenge, the least forgiving and most inflexible of all challenges...hang on! This one is more about whether your schedule works than whether or not you have the willpower or umphf! We're nearing completion! Total left in the competition = 827....
Not that we need another challenge to think about right now, but it does bear mentioning that the LAST challenge of the rowing year is the Global Marathon Challenge. Some team members are already well acquainted with these longer distances, and for some of us - well, it's going to be a big stretch assignment this year. Start ramping up those meter sessions (how perfectly this fits into our need for more meters in the back half of the WRC!) now to get into good shape for the half or full marathon distances. Here's the details of the challenge:
Global Marathon Challenge
April 16–April 30
The Details
* Choose from two levels of participation:
o Full Marathon Challenge: Row or ski a full marathon (42,195 meters) in one workout during the last two weeks of April and enter it in your online logbook.
o Half Marathon Challenge: Row or ski a half marathon (21,097 meters) in one workout during the last two weeks of April and enter it in your online logbook.
* This is an individual challenge. (You do not need to belong to a team to participate.)
* Meters must be entered online.
* Indoor rower and SkiErg meters only (no on water/on snow meters please).
Who Can Participate
Anyone with an online logbook at concept2.com can participate in this challenge.
Incentives and Rewards
Participants who meet the challenge can enjoy:
* Name inclusion on the Global Marathon Challenge Honor Boards.
* A specially designed downloadable certificate.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled program...
