Hi dan and Darryl, thanks for serving as rabbits for me even if you do not know it. i am trying to stay in the top 10 women and your extra pushes help me to keep my meters up. I cant go to sleep knowing you are ahead of me so I go and row some more.

OK Calamity. Glad to help your motivation. But be forewarned that my challenge rowing is about to end for this event. One of your rabbits is getting away. The gravitational pull I'm feeling for some Ozark springtime canoeing with the redbuds, dogwoods and wildflowers blooming along the river banks is too much to resist. You gotta realize it snowed here yesterday and we still have a foot of snow on the ground and 3 feet of ice on the lakes around Duluth. So next Monday I'll have the canoe(s) and camp gear loaded and ready to roll and I will be saying goodbye to the lunar mission for over a week.

And Go For It Gina! You can do it!

Darryl -After putting in half a million meters in March alone, I'd say that you're probably ready for a canoe break....spring fever hits the lunar mission crew!

And breaking news.....Jane has only 15,000 m to go! (That's an extra push just in case you can't sleep again! Although, gotta say, that rowing like you guys and gals have been rowing....I would sleep the sleep of the dearly departed..) :D

Jane,

Your welcome. Darryl may being going away for a week but I'm not. I'm trying to finish this year with 2 million meters since Nov. and 500,000+ for the NARC. The first looks good but the 2nd is do able. Just so you know I'm rowing twice a day with a total daily goal of 25,000. I think that should just about insure your ranking. So put your drafting clothes on (that's NASCAR speak from Daytona) fire up your Ion Propulsion Drive and lets head to finish line.

Just so you know I also check to see where you and Darryl are before my last row of the day. That determines how many meters I do. Chris T. can attest to the fact I will do what ever it takes.

Hey Darryl, Can I go with you. I'm jealous.

Happy and steading rowing to all

Dan C

Yay, Jane ... good for you! (Still don't see how you have that much energy left to row after a day with four young'uns in the house ... I'm so doubly impressed!)

I've given up, trying to chase Dan ... was setting my sites on Tim but, his altitude handicap notwithstanding, I don't seem to be making any progress on running him down! Now, it seems, I'm going to have to watch my own sweet AJ ... had no idea he'd posted all those meters yesterday. (We need to talk more.)

Thanks for all the congrats. I had just received my lifetime million t-shirt this weekend which I wore while rowing monday. The team and the competition has motivated me to add more meters than I ever planned. The NARC is hard as many of the top men and women are only entering meters weekly, so it is hard to get a sense of what is happening in terms of competition.
The last 2000 of the million were rowed during the ad breaks of THE DAILY Show. It is possible to go outside an row 4 to 5 hundred meters each break.
It is also possible to row about 2000 meters during the time it takes to cook pasta - store bought not fresh.

Congratulations on the million mark Jane! And way to go on the almost 10000 meter day - AJedi mega-meter Master!

Dan, where I'm heading to paddle in the Ozarks is open to anyone who is self sufficient in gear, can be ready to drive daily shuttles by 9:30AM, is safety minded, can do eddy ins and outs and handle fast water with fairly easy class one rapids, and doesn't mind paddling with a fairly large group. I'll be with a large group in the Pulltite Campground on the Current River in the Ozark Scenic Riverways just north of Eminence, MO. Get a canoe (or a yak) and come on up. Darryl

Outstanding job Jane!!!!
Got home from work this evening and really felt like taking the night off. When I got done reading what everyone had to say this evening I went upstairs and got to work.
Thanks for the kick in the butt.
