Congratulations Barb and Mike!
Had intentions to finish March Madness and contribute to the WRC but waylayed by a bad rotator cuff. I am going to try some short easy rows and see how it goes.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Kona2 - Please keep your snowstorm or at least don't send it off to the northeast. I'm getting used to having no snow on the ground, and sun able to warm us up into the 40's and 50's, and the ground even thawing out. It's pretty nice working on yard stuff I rarely get a chance to do.... like pulling buckthorn.
I have reached the point where I will no longer post my photos on Webshots. The pop-up adds and voice adds have become too pushy for me. And I had an episode where some of my photos were replaced by a prankster's racy photos. So for a couple months I have been posting a few photos on my FaceBook page to see how that goes. Yesterday I posted a couple dozen photos of last fall's canoe trip on the Green River through Labyrinth Canyon out of Moab, Utah. If you are on FaceBook you can check out the photos on my wall (Darryl Bathel). If you aren't on FB, I think FB allows me to send the photo address to your email address. If you have an interest in seeing these, send me a personal message with an email address, and we'll see how this goes. Moose

WRC: Thru Day 9
Total meters yesterday = 413,654 m WELL DONE!! Crew on the roster = 62.
Whoa....Age Without Limits appears to be in a class of its own....16 MM meters in 9 days....definitely the outliers on the graph! Thru day 9, the LunaTics are hanging on to spot # 4, but nipping at our ergs is RowPro - and we cannot forget that some teams update their weekly meters all in one foop swell. Like on Fridays. So, if you've got some "extra" time today, we could sure use the meters!!! A little more cushion would be ever so nice.
1 Age Without Limits Virtual Club 16,060,994
2 Free Spirits Virtual Club 5,792,605
3 Community Fitness Pointe of Munster, In. Health Club 4,044,433
4 LUNA-TICS Virtual Club 3,875,403
5 RowPro Online Virtual Club 3,744,842
6 Greenville Indoor Rowing Health Club 3,352,236
7 ANCIENTS Virtual Club 2,977,131
8 TIMBUK2 Virtual Club 2,648,941
9 Keweenaw Fitness Medical Facility 2,564,247
10 Empty the tanks Virtual Club 2,282,268
And in this corner of the challenge ring, whoa. It looks like the Clash of the Titans has been released early with the efforts that we see being played out in virtual rowing land. I don't believe Bart has posted his meters from yesterday yet, so the usual disclaimer is that these numbers and rankings are subject to change!! And, I'll put the caution flag out there one more time....many, many rowers go after some big consecutive days....and the pain lingers on for months afterwards. Take care of YOU, gents and gals, and be reasonable if and when you feel that something is just not right!

SNOW DAY!! So far, we've received 12 inches of snow in my part of the world....but the drifts....aaack. The snow shovel beckons. And btw, the image codes for photobucket are not working too well, so I will forego the graphics today.
March Madness: 20 LunaTIcs on the boards!
When the March Madness Challenge comes around each year, I know I look at it and think "5 or 10K a day for 25 days....piece of cake compared to some of the other challenges." Go on, admit it - you probably think the same thing. And then the reality of the discipline required to stay in the challenge hits somewhere in the second week...not because the distances aren't manageable, but because you have less flexibility for the when of rowing...and the numbers start to tumble off the boards. This year, the Challenge started out with almost SIX thousand participants. The overall participation level for all of Concept2 is now below 1,000...in fact, there are fewer people on the boards now than at the finish of last year's challenge - and we still have a week to go. So, congrats to those hanging in there - especially those who are rowing every single day!

Have you tried http://www.Flickr.com? It's free up to a certain number of pictures (enough for me) and a nominal annual fee for a gadzillion pictures (enough for AJ's art). Lets you make albums and all kinds of organizing.DuluthMoose wrote:I have reached the point where I will no longer post my photos on Webshots.
