Yes, Goal of 1.5 million reached.
Goal of maintaining sanity...not so sure,
Glad to be aboard this luny-ship, to the moon Alice, to the MOON! (not only is my better half a big Jackie Gleason fan, his first name happens to be Ralph!)

Hi Looney's,
Another lost sheep returning to the fold... shoulder issues and specialists instructions have "stopped" me from erging much at all, and PC issues have meant that todays post of 20k is actually multiple sessions from the last couple of weeks in a minor catch-up. (I know my injury is paltry compared to "Lefty's", however my motivation to replicate his effort with the harness was not strong enough! That plus I kept thinking it would only be another day or two before I am OK to go again... )
The shoulder is still not perfect, however I am told it should behave as I ramp up to normal activity again. 18 days to make my season's 3 million meter goal... that is going to be a steep ramp methinks!
Wild Bill... strangely whilst I erged away this morning I was thinking of you, and had decided to send a PM to see if a bit of encouragement could get you back on the seat. I hadn't logged in for a while, so I was thrilled to see your message - and trust that whatever the reason for the absence you are back in control! Welcome home! (We just need Kiba to sort out her connection issues and this space ship will hit even more amazing speeds!)
Finally, I know that plenty of milestones have rolled over within the team since my last post, so congrats to all... special mention to K2's 2 million meter season!
And...
Heres to a big finish to achieve our 100 million meter team season!!
Cheers,
Dave

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Sometimes goals have to be revised...especially when injuries intervene! We have 50 days left in the season to work with...and I am pretty sure we'll not only get our 100 million meter season, but we'll get that million meter team average as well (means we need 105 million meters). Glad you are on the mend!Dave_H wrote:Hi Looney's,

Welcome back and a speedy recovery. My Orthopod sent me back to work on a limited basis this week, everything went well. Started working on getting the CK book balance out of the red. Strange what a 7 week vacation does to cash flow. Hoping next friday he will let me erg 2 handed with the damper set on 1 if I promise slow easy rows. I will be 8 weeks post-op then. Seems like yesterday. LOL

Paddles
Kona2- Interesting perspective on that paddle photo. I have 3 paddles I'm building in my shop right now and hope to have them all done within a month. One is on consignment; one is my donation for a raffle fund raiser item for a conservation minded non-profit, and one will serve on my wall (handsomely I hope) to hang a decorative rug from. (I made the paddle; some hooker made the rug)Summer's coming and we hear Moose is making new paddles....has to buff out the gator teeth marks from Florida trip I'll bet
No gator tales to tell from this Florida trip. We paddled on mostly briskly moving water and gators tend to be in stagnant water like cypress swamps and lakes a whole bunch more. So we only saw a couple and they were very lethargic from the cool weather.
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
My bad... not only a black sheep, but one that can't count! (Actually, having grown up on a sheep farm, I came to the conclusion that sheep are incredibly intelligent... even phsycic! If you want a mob of sheep to go through a gate, they will do everything in their power to resist your "urgings". If you risk leaving a gate open for a few minutes while you cut through their paddock, and DON'T want them to go through it... guess what!)Kona2 wrote: Sometimes goals have to be revised...especially when injuries intervene! Our financial year at work ends on March 31st, and that is all I have been focused on for the last fortnight (and will be for the next month!). I guess I confused the C2 year with that... but hey! happy with the extra grace to both meet (and now hopefully exceed) my goal!
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Thanks Dan... 7 weeks is a certainly a long time when no doubt your practice has overheads piling up! Glad to hear you are on the brink of "normal" erging!!Toothdoc wrote:Dave H

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Good news!!! Gloria is finally on her way home from the Alien ship!! It seems that she kept sending me the secret release code of 5555 and I finally caught on!!! I guess that she has been partying like a rock star but is finally glad to be on her way back home.
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Hey all! I'm new to the team, just in time for the WRC. I just moved house, and the SECOND thing I set up was the rower (the first was my bed). I don't row too many meters - YET- but it's getting better all the time, so I want to contribute/be accountable to a team. I'm recovering from a shoulder injury due to an auto accident; the rower was purchased with part of my settlement check, lol. My physical therapist is a rower, and he finally convinced me this is the way to go for weight loss/general fitness. Looking forward to rowing with you all!
