I spoke too soon. After inputting Sinead's data, she told me she wanted to erg some more, and so she did. Her total for the day is 2155 meters. I wonder how she'll feel tomorrow.
Hey BAZzy. maybe you can show Tomo what other kids are doing. Sinead's put in 8,052 meters since she started erging on Jan. 17. (Don't know how that compares to other kids, but I find it impressive, and I'm a rower.) The whole reason she started was because she saw other kids were on the Lunatics team.

Checking In
Sinead - Awesome Effort!
Gina - Your Sunday challenge... is it just one all-out shot at a 2k row? If so, I'd have to see how I felt at 6AM that day after a warm up before I'd go for it. But there is some interest.
Dan - Lefty now, ambidextrous in 3 months. About 15 years ago I broke my left elbow on a portage trail crashing down on it while carrying 130 lbs of canoe and pack on the last day of a 9 day canoe trip. My S.O. had to paddle us in the last 4 miles and one portage. There is no way to paddle with one wing broken. But she had me in the Doc's office within 4 hours of when it happened. Anyway I ended up with my writing arm in a cast for 6 weeks (lefty here). But being a supervisor meant signatures had to be given no matter what, and typing memos and letters on the computer had to happen with my weak side hand. Funny thing happened, by the end of six weeks, I was just about as comfortable writing and signing my name with my right hand as with my left. As the weeks go by, you're going to find that left hand and arm pretty useful Dan. Oh and my accident greased the skids for me for my first light weight kevlar canoe regardless of $2000 price. No more lugging a 75 lb aluminum tub around in the backwoods for me. You should be able to leverage something out of your accident to.....

Thanks
Thanks for the support and encouragement Luna-Tics! Much appreciated!
I'll be giving my erg a 2-3 week rest soon. A week from now I expect to be heading to Florida with canoe in tow to take a break from winter and recharge my paddling batteries. And I'm also looking forward to fresh, Gulf Coast seafood.

Not sure how it will go with the snow factor, however I really enjoyed seeing some of the opening ceremony over there!
Whilst not normally a big fan, KD Lang certainly nailed "Hallelujah".
Any Lunatics getting along to it?
I don't suppose the Moose got to paddle in one of the torch relay canoes?
Cheers,
Dave

Hey Lefty, hope the recovery is still on track!Toothdoc wrote:
Eating left handed is a PITA, yet I'm still able to maintain my mass. I just got to where I can use a knife on tender items. You really take for granted two functioning limbs until you have only one.

Looks like you are just going to have to specify tender and thick fillet steaks, not overcooked... and perhaps you could persuade the barmaid to raise the Spotted Cow to your lips to avoid any undue strain?? Using techniques like this will certainly aid body mass retention, although too much may exagerate the effect a bit.
All the best mate,
Dave
