Thanks from me also. Perhaps the C2 padded seat, or the IErg, may be the way to go.

Thanks for the pointer. Seemed like some good ideas until I got to the thong...

Heather, Love the "being alive" comment! And I agree we all know where we feel best (weight-wise). And we're all different shapes. Really the best metric is body fat percentage. I got mine measured (dunk test, so very accurate) a couple years ago, and was stoked that it was 19.1. I'm down a few pounds from there and hopefully up a little muscle. I'd like to get it done again this year if I can justify the cost.

Clearly, it's a gender issue, but I'm not the one with a sore butt, either am I.

Love that you ladies are taking care of yourselves!!! Keep at it Heather. Looks and fit of clothes is always a great motivator BUT "we" always need to keep in mind that we actually NEED exercise for good health. I know NOW because my health actually depends on it but it's a shame it had to come to this. I should have known better all along (for YEARS) but because I stay fairly slim it always gave me a reason to cheat more. I always almost envied people who stayed in great shape without having to do anything. Now I feel sorry for them because of what may be going on on the inside without them ever knowing. "IF" rowing is too boring for you than you NEED to find something that you enjoy more and something that you will want to do.

When I renewed my gym membership they did a fat measurement. (I can't find the printout right now) Think I was 19 point something and got down to 18 point something a month ago (after 3 months) I mention this because my niece has some kind of small handheld plastic looking thing that measures fat. I borrowed it at took a measurement at the same time this sophisticated setup at the gym (done by a chiropractor that has an office there) and the home unit was dead on accurate with this computer generated setup. Just thought you'd like to know.

Looked like this one:

actually I think it was this one:

If my workplace hadn't required a cholesterol check last year I would never have known how high mine was. I hadn't been to the doctor in 20 years ( and I work for a health insurance company! ) . Through diet and exercise I have dropped it significantly; mostly the LDL dropping. HDL is going up thanks to the exercise.

One of the best benefits I get from exercise - especially in the winter - is that i don't get the blues. I am not a winter person.

Yesterday we blew all the way through Indiana, skirted Chicago, and overnighted in the little town of Ladd, IL. So those of you who had visions of clubbing the night away in Chi-Town, sorry!! :P

Last night saw us at 2,076,212 meters, or 1,289 miles. Nice rowing, folks! Should get easier now that we're into the midwest and it's pretty flat...

Can we make it to Des Moines by tonight?

Wahoo! Broke into the top 10 for the challenge. Can't see the tails of the big dogs from here, but I'm starting to smell the sweat!

So you're one of the scurvy dog biting at my heels-I guess the "Board of Education" the Cap'n has is working on others than myself!!   Took a much needed rest day yesterday-figured 8 days in a row is enough. But, looking at the stats of all the team (which I do daily) competition is fierce around here, and I better keep the rest to a minimum. If we keep this pace up, we'll be in Miami in no time at all.

 I wondered what that heady aroma was. :P

Rest day for me as well. I overdid it yesterday with a 7-mile run and 5 hours of housework and too much caffiene. Felt punky this AM. But plan to be back on board tomorrow!! Keep my seat warm and my oars wet!! (NOT the other way around, please!)

Congrats on the 25k, Smit-meister!!
