LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
January Virtual Team Challenge
Calling All Luna-Tics! It's the 2010 Virtual Team Challenge!
It's time to thrive with churning oars, piracy, some looting and hoarding - and not a few personal goals met! Oars at the ready! The Holiday Challenge was just the warm ups!
The Virtual Team Challenge Boat: Oar You In It?!
The January Virtual Team Challenge is not for the faint of heart...but then, neither is rowing to the moon! Here's what you need to do to get into the JVTC Luna-Tic Boat:
Existing Year Round Team Members:
In your logbook, go to the team page heading. Scroll down and select the link that says you will participate in this challenge. Yep, you have to elect to participate in EVERY challenge...or not. Even if you only have a week of the time to donate meters to the team....we want you in the boat!
Only want to row with us for the challenge: ( warning! we'll try to capture your interest to join the year round team)
In your logbook, go to the team page heading. In the Join A Team section, click on Choose A Team and select Luna-Tics from the list. We're an open team, so you'll be added to the roster soonest.
DEADLINES: January 15th: you can't join and you can't leave a team. That's a generous two weeks - and this stipulation came to be when some teams would add a few (like 100) rowers on the last day of the competition. This keeps the rowing field a bit more level, although there can certainly be chop in the waters.

Let there be fireworks with this full blue moon! Fortunately for those who will be New Year's Eve revelers, you can row the meters before the midnight hour!
We will be combining our annual New Year's Eve virtual party with this event.
Who will be standing in as Bartender this year? Any volunteers?

I nominate Dan. He did a fine job in years gone by. And, I'd like to put in my order for a virtual Kir Royale.Kristine Strasburger wrote:Who will be standing in as Bartender this year? Any volunteers?

I must respectfully decline since we will be on the road and I am the Designated Driver. But you can save me a Spotted Cow for the 2nd. Happy New Year wishes to all.just27 wrote:I nominate Dan. Anais, congratulation on the two-fer(Have your Mom explain this). Is this your first lost tooth? You know the Tooth Fairy saves all your teeth and if your Mom is good at talking turkey (Again Have your Mom explain this) she might be able to get the Tooth Fairy to give them to her after you have lost your last baby tooth. No promises though, sometimes he has to let a baby that doesn't have any teeth use them.

What better qualification for the bartender than being the DD. At least you're not quaffing all the profits. (Albeit, virtual profits.)Toothdoc wrote: I must respectfully decline since we will be on the road and I am the Designated Driver. But you can save me a Spotted Cow for the 2nd. I could volunteer, but that will mean the bar will be closed at 6pm EST. To be honest I don't know of any bar that will close that early.just27 wrote:What better qualification for the bartender than being the DD. At least you're not quaffing all the profits. Second point: Since our Mexican Dutch background all drinks will be mixed with either Tequila or Jenever (or both) and this would combine like baileys and tonic...

OMG, Baileys and tonic is one nasty looking science experiment ... I clean with baking soda and vinegar ... looks just like that!nl07695 wrote:I could volunteer, but that will mean the bar will be closed at 6pm EST. ... Isn't jenever a type of gin? You could mix a bunch of interesting stuff with tequila or gin, and be under the table by 6pm, no matter the time zone.

Following the finish of the Blue Moon, crew plans on gathering at the virtual space bar...for virtual drinks! Sounds like we need a west coast person to be the virtual bartender....Minnie? Captain Kristine?
