Re: All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 12.23.09
Thanks Kona2! The planets were somewhat aligned on this one. Cool basement temp at about 70F; low humidity in the house; a fading high pressure system in the area, and almost 2 months conditioning without an extended time away from rowing. All factors keeping heart rate low and enabling me to pull a little harder.Kona2 wrote: (while not your record 60 min row, very nice output!)
Today I rowed slower and added some OT, since a huge low pressure storm is settling over us and dumping it's snow load and I normally don't have great output under the influence of low pressure. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that travel to Chippewa Falls, Wis on Saturday will be OK. I'm suppose to be playing a role as Santa in helping to deliver a solo canoe on the first part of it's journey to a gal in Little Rock, AR waiting in jubilant expectation for her present....
Re: Holiday Challenge
being retired and slow is a great combo when it comes to the challenge...just27 wrote:Smile (27 pounds). Enjoy the break, Dan; you'll soon regain your girlish figure.Toothdoc wrote:Haven't row a meter since I left FL on the 17th. I've gained 27 lbs and 3 dress sizes. danno

Happy Christmas
Happy Christmas to all who celebrate and peace to all.
Tooth Doc-Santa and the tooth fairy met at our house last night. Anais lost a tooth earlier this week and saved it to put under her pillow Christmas Eve so Santa and the tooth fairy could meet. The tooth was carefully guarded by Elias's playmobil police advent calendar all week because Anais's fairy advent calendar could attract the tooth fairy.
Perhaps we should have borrowed the lighted teeth for our roof this year.
Jane, Debbie, Orion, Anais, Elias and Akira
PS see www.noradsanta.org to see where Santa has been.

Cheers to all,

A lunar event !
Let there be fireworks with this full blue moon! Fortunately for those who will be New Year's Eve revelers, you can row the meters before the midnight hour!
With a fine showing of over a million meters, the Ancients show us that sometimes age wins the race! As Luna-Tics, we're moon driven so we know we'll return the favor. Oars were quiet during the holiday celebrations, but today is a NEW day. Row team row! (Astrogator is relentless....having discovered that there is some sort of gamma ray burster that we have to avoid on our way to the moon...)
Season meters as of 239/365 = 71,767,378 m
Total meters on the day = 149,737 m
Oars in space (participation) = 11 percent (a stalwart skeleton crew!)
MILESTONES...Bragging Rights...Celebrations:
Baz with a half moon and 21,923 m
Peter H with half marathon # 39
FOUR Million Meter Watch:
just27 with (102,653 m) to go!
ONE Million Meter Watch:
Ken G with (88,303 m) to go!
Mike C with (132,564 m) to go!
And thanks to all today's crew for keeping us moving towards the moon:
Peter G 5,000 m
Ken G 10,000 m
Tom R 10,768 m
Mike C 12,000 m
Tim P 14,201 m
Darryl 14,652 m (snowing here, snowing there)
Bart 20,000 m
Will S 20,096 m
Peter H 21,097 m
Bazzy 21,923 m
