Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Well...in the spirit of team unity, I'll venture to do a little goal-setting myself. I'll shoot for 100K. That's about what I can do in a good, solid month of rowing. Our town was devastated by flooding recently. My husband and I are spending quite a bit of time helping many of our friends with their cleanup efforts. It has been a life-changing tragedy for so many people. The situation is still pretty awful. People have been without water for almost one week now. All this has weighed heavy on us, although we are fortunate to have suffered so little damage to our own property. As cleanup and re-buildling efforts continue, I'll probably be more short on time than usual, so I'm going to stick with a conservative 100K as my goal. It's been awhile since I rowed that much in one month anyway, so I think I'll be pretty satisfied with that distance. Happy to be part of such a supportive and fun team!! Game on!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Thanks for the warm welcome. This is going to be my first team event. Put me down for 100K meters on my Model B. I hope to row more than that but life has a way of interrupting plans. If I do row more than my 100K goal, will the excess still count for the team? Also, why is there Timbuk(2, Too, TWO)? Thanks
Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Put me down for 100K. I won't be able to row every day, but I'll do as much as I can.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Welcome to the boat, Rusty! Yes, all your meters will count towards the team challenge. The personal goal is just something this team has set up (in my stats-capturing program) that helps us each work towards an individual challenge goal. You'll see when the Cap'n reports the stats that each person with a goal set up will get feedback on how close they are as the challenge goes forward.Rusty wrote:Thanks for the warm welcome. The TimBukTOO/TimBukTWO thing is a confusing, I agree! There are really two groups. TimBukTWO is just for team-based challenges, and is what you have joined. TimBukTOO is a year-round "affiliation" which goes for the entire rowing season -- we meet here in the team room and report stats all year round. Most folks are in both groups. You can see the current standings here.
Please consider joining our affiliation as well! You can do so by going to your online logbook, clicking the Profile tab, then Edit Profile. Scroll most of the way down the page to the Affiliation box and select us from the list.
Same goes for all you other folks who have joined us for the Fall Team Challenge!!

I'm glad you and the bees and the rest of the menagerie have been spared, but my heart goes out to all those who were less fortunate. How you do everything you do is amazing!cindyreck wrote:Well...in the spirit of team unity, I'll venture to do a little goal-setting myself. I'll shoot for 100K.
