Being a fan of the writings of P. G. Wodehouse, including the Jeeves series, I really liked the BBC series done with Hugh Laurie playing Bertie Wooster & Stephen Fry as Jeeves. Here (during the 2nd season of House), he is telling David Letterman about his father winning an Olympic Gold Medal in rowing in 1948.

I have a running race on the first Sunday of the challenge which will disrupt my early metres, but I hope to erg over 130k.

Izzz, is it possible to provide a list of all TimBukToo entries into this challenge?

Thanks for the welcome! I've been rowing 20 minutes at a time and almost reaching 3,000 m, I know that's not a lot compared to all of you, but I will get there! I should be up to 3000 m by the start of the challenge, maybe even more! I will probably increase my rowing to 30 minutes by then, so will definitely be there. I'm at work and don't have more time to post, but I have questions on spm and a few other things, I'll ask them tonight, I hope you all don't mind!

Jeeves and Wooster was wonderful!!! If you liked that you might like "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" -- very silly comedy sketches with these two. Available on Netflix....

BTW, I'm down for 100k for the challenge. I will be missing some days right at the beginning for a family thing out-of-town, but do hope to exceed that goal...

Yes: Go to the Teams Menu, go to "Your Team", and click on the highlighted word "TimbukTWO" for the full list.
(I get the list of those who are on the team, with checks and x's to tell me who's entered the Challenge, and with everybody's e-mail address, under a special "Manage The Team" feature for captains.)

So, this is my first challenge, do we just row as much as we can in the 30 days? Are the standings by the amount rowed divided by the number of the people on the team? Sorry, I'm an accountant... Just trying to gather information. I'm all up for this, I'm on a roll, errr row! :)

Izzy,
Can you make sure I am signed up for the fall challenge...I think I did it a while ago & just wanted to make sure. By the 15th, I'll probably be on the erg more than the bike.
Also, put me down for a goal of 200k.
Thanks & have a great weekend!

Ahoy maties!!! Quartermaster Lisa here with t'nights stats, as our trusty Cap'n is off for th' Sabbath. Normal rations and floggings will resume tomorrow eve.

Folks seem to be warming up for the fall challenge, with a hearty 10 of 37 members (27%) logging 111,831 total meters. We'll be hittin' them scurvy dogs a-broadsides, no question!

Milestones achieved: Our very own David W hit a very cool 2 Million meters for the season so far!!! Outstanding, man!! A double Woot! And Everett B hit 15K!! Keep on rowing, men!!

Approaching camels -- er -- stonehenges -- uh -- something-or-others: John is closing on1.2M (-18,144m), Adam is approaching 500K (-7,410m), Andrew is steaming towards 450K (-14,650m), Andy is oh-so-close to 150K (-2,545m), Glenn is in spitting distance (pa-tooie!) of 75K (-7,786m), Everett is closing on 25K (-7,000m), and Kim is just shy of 15K (-2,289m). Row strong, team!!!

Posted Meters:
David W - 28,837 Ouch! I hurt just thinking about this distance...
John S - 16,539 Off the road and onto the erg!
Adam M - 13,000 Big, big row!
Everett B - 13,000 Just as big!!! In fact, exactly as big!
Gary G - 12,266 Very big row, but didn't get the 13k memo! :P
Jeff S - 11,000 Back after a short hiatus...
Andy I - 5,000 Our most consistent rower!
Glenn Y - 5,000 Welcome back, man!! We've missed you!
Kim N - 3,679 Going strong!!
Andrew A - 3,510 Good row!!!

Not having access to the Cap'n's team page for the Fall Challenge, I won't report on that here...

Row on, team!!!

Welcome aboard to our new and returning crew.

I passed the 3 million meter mark today- am on my way now to 4 million and beyond-- just as the Kansas motto states in Latin- To the stars and beyond-- Ad Astra, Per Astra.
I have always thought that was a goofy motto for such a conservative and some might say.... backwards State.
But the motto is a good one to row, and to live by.

My baby sister is in town for the weekend, celebrating her 60th birthday- and we have been eating and drinking up a storm.
Ad Astra, Per Astra.
Et tu, Brute?
