Woohoo and way to row! Congrats (and your name in lights) to William H aka Wild Bill on achieving a ONE million meter Fall Rowing Challenge! And, since he's recommending a 20 percent increase over goal.....there's still time for that 200K ! :D

Nice going on that 500K, too!

Nice half million you have in the Fall Challenge, Toothdoc!

Your Rawhide theme song reminds me of Cycle Oregon. At the close of each riding day, the sag (support and gear) wagons drive the course and follow the last riders in....the song they play over their loudspeakers is the theme to Rawhide...

Brrrrr! I refuse to run in extreme cold ever again....it was that bad.
It was 16 deg. F when I left the house at 0530, and probably only a couple degrees warmer at the starting line. At around 11 a.m. I passed by a grove of trees coated in ice, full sunshine, and hardly a drip melting off, so you know what that means. I think it may have warmed up to 38 finally, but that is still pretty darn cold.

Way to pull the chain, Kiba! So, what is your all-time favorite flavor of cupcake? Are you really a baker in your other life (your non-rowing life, that is)?

Team Question for the day: If a cupcake has frosting on it, how do you eat it?

Me? First, I take the paper off. Then, I carefully break it in half a little below the top crown. Next, I turn the bottom section upside down, and place it on the top, making a nice frosting sandwich. If I have a whole tray of cupcakes I usually will just stand over the *** DELETE - SPAM *** sink to eat them, as this can sometimes be messy. My all-time favorite is a devil's food cupcake with marshmallow frosting (fluffy white frosting will do in a pinch.)

Thanks, Kiba - just trying to stay ahead of your Red Giants and Supernovas!! It's still a long way to the end of the season, and all bets are off as to which of us will be in the lead then

As Doc says in his profile, "As Satchel Paige said: 'Don't look back, somebody might be gainin' on you'. " Bart is closing ground pretty fast

I wouldn't count anyone out at this stage

Blaze of Glory

Post by just27 » October 12th, 2009, 1:26 am

You guys are all awesome ... just looking at the meters rowed this challenge ... and the marathon run ... and the bikes cycled ... and even the plumbing accomplishments! I'm just so proud to "know" ya. I'll hook up with the erg again on Tuesday to finish the FRC and go out in a blaze of glory ... just hate to see how that daily average has nose-dived over the past few company-heavy weeks.

(I eat a cupcake the same way I eat a muffin ... inhale everything above the paper line, then dump the rest.)

Belated congrats to Wild Bill and Danno (even if he is reeling me in too quickly!). B) Awesome work guys! B)

Jan, maybe Kiba was just trying to tell you that you deserve to be treated like a birthday girl with all of the hard work you put into these boards!

Cheers - and happy rowing all!

Rgds,
Dave
