LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
So I was just lurking on the Team Standings page, and I noticed that almost everyone on team "'Big Blue' International" is 109 years old. I just thought this was interesting and thought I'd share. I expect it was some type of data error, but it would be kind of cool if somehow it wasn't. I bet we'll have gotten to Mars by the time I'm 109

109
The 109 default age has popped up in many of the challenges - it isn't usually corrected by the end of the challenge!
By the way, Rowpro has closed the gap by about 200K in the last two days. I believe they will catch up by Saturday.

To All
I'm back from the wedding, it was nearly perfect and both sides were happy as clams. So much going on it seemed like I spent a month in Wisconsin the last four days.
I see we have several new members and a ton of personal achievements. At the risk of leaving someone out I will just say welcome to the new members and congratulations to all the Lunatic achievers. Good job by all.
Several first this week. Beer and brauts, Chicago Style Hotdog, a trip to Lambeau Field and a Packer braut. Fortunately all were diet foods.
No weight gain with 4 days off the erg. And no Spotted Cow is not Lite beer. Yum Yum!!
Thanks all for covering for me during my absence. I will try to return the favor.

PS there are descriptions. To help you figure it out: Andrea's dad was one of 13, her mom one of 11. All our friends and relative traveled at least 400 miles. I will entertain questions. We threatened to get Gram Canale (John's) and Grandpa Spoerh (Andrea) a room.

That's really good advice that bears repeating ...Kiba wrote:That the spirit WilburyI'm not sure how everyone else feels, but I think it should always be fun. If it's feeling too much like work you can try mixing it up a bit. If you usually row really fast, you could try slowing it down and watching your favourite tv show while you row. Or if it's the opposite, you could try doing a couple sprints. You can try varying the lengths too, if you usually do one long workout, you could switch to a few shorter ones, or vice versa. For me, I get kind of discouraged doing anything over 5K, so when I do I like to break it down into little sections mentally, so if I'm doing 10K, to really, "in my head" do 5 little sections of 2K. Another thing you might like trying are intervals. Most of my exceptionally long workouts were done that way, they are kind of nice too because you get bonus "rest" metres (where the wheel is still spinning but you aren't really rowing anymore). Then I just do a short little workout at the end to round off my metres because I'm like that.

Thanks for sharing

A local brewery has a product called Shock Top. One of the marketing "vehicles" is a red VW bug with a shock top....saw it while I was driving the other day (and yes, I was stopped at a light when I took the picture!). Kind of fun! I understand the brew is tasty...
I confess I had to ask Kiba what exactly the picture she posted yesterday was.....since she said biology class, wasn't sure if I was supposed to be looking for pieces and parts (but what were those stars doing in there!)....turns out this is the Orion Nebula - which of course I could see after she told me about it.....

PS - I'm planting trees (or building bridges!) as part of the National Public Lands Day tomorrow so posting may be delayed since volunteers have to meet the rangers at the ski areas by 0700. The pine forests here have been devastated by the pine beetle - so the trees will help replace some of those lost. Good erosion control too....wouldn't want to get caught in a mudslide....

I really enjoy reading the posts on your team and looking at the pictures posted. They are really awesome. But you Luna-Tics can slow down if you want to.
