Hello everyone!

I am a 33-year-old man from Helsinki, and I recently joined the Forum Flyers. My main hobby is climbing. I haven't been rowing very actively since I started last year. Hopefully, this year I will find the motivation to row actively and improve, especially on short distances. I also plan to participate in the CTC challenges at some point, once I get my training back on track.
Welcome to the team. Between the CTC and the challenges offered by Concept2 you'll find plenty of motivation to keep you in shape.

Yeah! I'm not the freshest newbie anymore. Welcome to the team.

Welcome newbies!

bassongirl, the number of active users changes constantly due to injuries, seasonal focuses on different sports, etc. The CTC is probably the best indicator of active users at any one time. Sometimes our members disappear for a few years and then return. We are very adaptable. B)

Meerkats usually posts once a month an updated list of Flyers with the most CTC months participated in. Make it a goal to get on that list and move up as the years go by. Even if you're not at your best, contribute a score. "Bums on Seats," as our former captain so eloquently put it. :D

Team page currently showing 223 registered members, some inactive. If memory serves, Concept 2 seasonal challenges typically produce <100 participating FF members. FF “affiliation” members currently displaying yearly training and/or fitness maintenance meter totals for 23-4 season number 62. See C2 logbook for intro to all Concept 2 activities (including skierg and bikerg) and indoor rowing records by year for ranked times and distances. https://log.concept2.com/team

Cross-team Challenge participation is typically 4-5 full boats per month (20-25 rowers submitting score) but the names do change from one monthly challenge to the next.

Thx for the information. I forgot to join the affiliation. So now I'm member number 63 in this season.

👍 You go, bassongirl! There is indoor rowing tradecraft, motivation, competition, and teamwork aplenty at the Concept 2 log site. And a good old balls to the wall gasper every month @CTChallenge if you like your pain short and sharp.

Would your hubby be interested in joining if you let him win? Or maybe if you don’t? Let us know.

Hi Forum Flyers
Introducing myself I am male New Zealand Boomer and a PR1 adaptive rower. I consider myself an active rower both on water and erging. Are there any other adaptive rowers in this team.
Cheers Terry
Hi Terry the Kiwi paraforester. Missed your query first time thru. I rowed the C2 Military Challenge a couple of times with adaptos. Missing some stuff but still had the right stuff. I don’t know of adaptives among FF membership. There are pararowing comps. which means there is organization and support for adaptives in IR. USRowing is the best clearing house i know of for identifying pararowing opportunities. Perhaps WorldRowing also? And you are welcome to join FF. We’ll be glad to have you.

Just hit 70.000 season meters exactly today B)
I couldn't row for one week because of a bad cough treated with antibiotics. So I'm pretty happy with that.

Welcome to our new members!

Been off the Forum while I was on vacation (but still erging every morning on the cruise ship).

While I was gone, it looks like every one has been busy doing their CTC for May. With 3 more rowers we can get a fourth boat off the dock. I think any type would do - technically still need a lightweight - but there are two L's in Boat 3 so a fast enough time might push Rick into Boat 4 (sorry Rick :-))

Please don't leave Graham and I stranded at the dock!

Haha, no problemo. If I get pushed out and into Boat 4 because someone else made Boat 3 faster then I'm happy to 'take one for the team.'

As some of us say at Community Rowing in Boston, "Any boat, any time." B)

Massively stressed scrambling for my dissertation defense in a few days, but I finally made it to the May challenge today and... all the adrenaline and cortisol and anxiety (not to mention all the sitting and lack of physical activity recently) made it extremely unpleasant. But got the challenge done, hope a couple others can get it in too!

Good job, especially considering it being 'extremely unpleasant.' Well done. I am indeed now in Boat 4, and hoping for one more rower to get us off the dock.

Nice finish to the month with enough rowers stepping up to fill 5 boats and leaving no one on the dock.

On to June. Easy-peasy 4' at any stroke rate.

my first sit on an erg post knee replacement today 3 weeks postop - it hasn't been a great recovery yet unfortunately but trying to keep moving and do some weights. Literally one leg only - the operated knee isn't flexing enough yet so sat on the floor
