What say you, Wild Minnie, shall we meet virtually somewhere in the middle of the country and have a rousing mousey good time!? Who lives equidistant from Sacramento and Boston and can suggest a venue? Y'all come. Virtual libations and mouse-trap cheese (ah ha ... the ongoing cheezer connection!) are on me.
LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.

I believe I'm still languishing somewhere in Colorado ... waiting for a Kona2 sighting as she goes zooming around the state on her bicycle!bg wrote:sounds good to me....btw, i made it vegas...how's everybody else doing.....
What happened when you got to Vegas? More fireworks, plus slot machines, or do you just sit there and wait for the rest of us sluggards to arrive?
Virtually and really in Colorado
K2 definitely in Colorado, both virtually (somewhere near Pueblo...) and really (far enough away from Pueblo). Alamosa and some of those places are pretty nice (I have biked there!).
I, too, wonder what happens when you virtually arrive in Vegas.

Quite an update, but it's the product of many very short rows over several days during which I had access to an erg but not a computer. Mine is not a name you're likely to see atop daily lists. Feels good to be back on the list, though.Kona2 wrote:And thanks to today's crew:

I made it, too - not very exciting finish line, howeverbg wrote: sounds good to me....btw, i made it vegas...how's everybody else doing.....
Will continue to post hours, but it doesn't appear to be tracking any further progress.
All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 7.24.09
Only 49.5 percent to go!
The midway point between Sacramento and Boston looks to be close between Lincoln, NE or Omaha, NE or Kansas City, MO....but Iowa is not out of consideration.

Total meters on the day = 144,178 m

It's two days worth of rowing Kona2. I got up a little earlier this morning to be able to complete my row before my wife and I headed up to Ely for their blueberry festival for the day. Had some mighty fine blueberry pie with blueberry ice cream on top, saw lots of nice arts and crafts, got rained on some, and if you can believe it, never went into a single canoe outfitter store.Kona2 wrote:Darryl 28,616 m (2 days I believe - I was watching Tour de Lance and didn't capture the numbers quickly enough!)
An update from Will S!
WOWzer...couldn't believe the numbers for the team when I just checked them! Turns out that Will S (currently posted in Iraq I believe) updated to the tune of about 300K....I think he'll get top billing tomorrow, eh?
And, Moose, the blueberries sound great! I have tried for a couple of years to get to the Seagull Century bike ride....it's in Maryland and goes out to Assateague Island with all the wild horses. One of the stops is an all you can eat pie stop....whoa. I'd be in trouble! I hear their blueberry is particularly fabulous....

Iowa! Let's go visit Laurie! I didn't know exactly where one found Iowa, until I just looked. The things you learn on a rowing forum.Kona2 wrote:The midway point between Sacramento and Boston looks to be close between Lincoln, NE or Omaha, NE or Kansas City, MO....but Iowa is not out of consideration.
I wasn't going to row tonight ... but those darned green moon-walking sneakers are creeping me out and, even though it's already 9:30pm, I think they're mesmerizing me into action.

The people at C2 provided me 9 download options for HM certificates.
The original plan was to do 52 this season. got 4 behind on schedule

I'm fixated on the green moon-walking "athletic shoes" ... and thinking about the different names I've called them, depending on the Continent:Kona2 wrote: Minnie....decidedly averse to green moon-walking tennies.....
sneakers
tennies
athletic shoes
runners
trainers
plimsolls
gym shoes
... and, of course, by the various brand names!
