Well done, CTC enthusiasts! I used to take the 12 in a row for granted, but life / motivation / <insert excuse here> are starting to make it more challenging for me.

I'm with Ewen - the streak starts this month :).

Two days into the month, and we already floated 2 boats! Let's hope we can continue the hot start to get 8 boats afloat!

Rididng the excuse wave too and having barely rowed at all this season; I am thinking if I only row once a month, I might as well make it the ctc.. I can see my lack in training though by Graham Woodley paddling away from me again.

meerkats's motto has always been 'Bums on Seats.' Going fast is good, but a slow row is better than no row.

Now go out and catch Graham!

Morning, guten tag, buenos dias

OK Row for Haiti 2021. 9-10th October 2021 (DATE CHANGE I THINK DUE TO SCHOOL STUFF!). Pick your spot with the following link;

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

I'm paying a £25 fee and I'll set up a site soon, and then might get some sponsors, other than that pay what you can but lets fill the spots and get as many rowers rowing at the same time as possible.

Can someone try the link and confirm it works. Otherwise can someone more competant than me tell me how to do it or i'll send them the file and they can share it. If it works I'll face book it.

No hassle you can row as many hours in the day as you want, i just want t get it out there, raise awareness and raise/donate a bit of money

Yes, you know you're slacking when I'm pulling away from you!
I have yet to get the cover off the rower this month, will do in the next week when the temperature drops - at the moment I break into a sweat just thinking about it.

Hi Chris

It only allows viewing access, but there is an option to request to edit, so maybe that's the way to go (although more of a burden on you to keep approving requests).

I haven't worked much with Google Sheets so can't help with much advice there, but happy to help with monitoring of the forum and Facebook and updating the sheet if you give me access to that file.

We're away at the beach house that weekend, but I suspect I'll be putting in a formal request for the 2nd car to be packed with the rowing machine :). I should be able to fit in at least 2 sessions, maybe 3 at a push, and I don't mind filling in any strange time holes that we can't get our American team mates to cover.

Thanks Chris. I went in last night and added the Facebook responses as well as my own.

I may be a little ambitious with 3 x 1 hour sessions, given the amount of rowing I've done recently. I hope others will come along and take enough slots so I can drop to 2, but on the other hand, maybe this is the focused challenge I need. One month to get the hands back in shape, but don't expect massive distances from my turns :).

Kyle Voorhees?🤔
Yep, another (and last) Voorhees addition. Linda convinced our younger son Josh...and then sibling rivalry convinced our older son Kyle! I am in Boat 3, and they are both in Boat 4. Not sure how long that is going to last...as there is talk of another try by both of them...a lot of trashing talking going on right now!

Today I noticed an Andrew Vorhees of the Narragansett Boat Club entered in the CRI Fall Classic 3-mile race on the Charles River on Saturday. Any relation?

Hi Matt

Here's our team history in the Fall Challenge:

Code: Select all

Season	Pos	Out of	Percentile	Metres Active mem	Avg Metres
2015	109	290	38% 655,865 5 131,173
2016	42	271	15% 1,908,511	15 127,234
2017	31	391	8% 2,656,068	25 106,243
2018	42	480	9% 2,494,265	27 92,380
2019	42	566	7% 3,211,555	32 100,361
2020	34	584	6% 3,464,945	35 98,998
2021	14	905	2% 12,765,330	88 145,061
So about 100,000+ average per member is a good starting point to aim for. We have 56 members signed up for the challenge already, so looking promising that we might have a shot at beating last year's levels.

Rick-

Voorhees is a bit of an unusual name...but Andrew is no relation.
