All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 6.13.09

Post by Kona2 » June 14th, 2009, 9:56 am

A rare treat in the night skies over our rowing universe: twin red giants and three half marathons! What are you guys eating for breakfast!?!

Congratulations David G for a 3rd HM yesterday - and a fine personal best!

And congratulations to Darryl Image on his selection to be part of the paddling crew in a voyageur canoe traveling in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Quetico Park and Superior National Forest. To be part of a celebration that encompasses Canada Day and July 4th....wowzer! Historical significance!

Season meters as of 43/365 = 12, 003, 967 m !!! TWELVE MILLION...the team rocks!

Total meters on the day = 192,727 m

Oars in space = 20 percent

MILESTONES....Bragging Rights....Celebrations:

Image Red Giant 50K Kiba with # 4 on the year
Image Dan with Half Marathons # 29, # 30
Image Dave H with Half Marathon # 10

ONE MILLION METER WATCH:

Kiba with (50,000 m) to go for # 1 MM for the season and # 3 MM lifetime! You row, girl !

ROWED THE DISTANCE:

Image RED Giant = greater than or equal to 50K in a 24 hr period

Dan with 50,212 m (also Red Giant # 4 on the year!)

And thanks to today's lunar crew for each and every meter....they all count!

Teresa 6,023 m
Lilia 8,000 m
Steven 10,000 m
Peter H 10,000 m (I was sure that your pattern says an HM was going to happen)
Kym 11,380 m
Ted 12,000 m
Mitch J 14,015 m
Dave H 21,097 m
Kiba 50,000 m
Dan 50,212 m

Wait....looks like there is a cloud of dust on the horizon.....could it be...

Lakers won!

Post by acrewer » June 14th, 2009, 11:48 pm

Yes! the LA Lakers are on top again. :D :D :D :D :D It's been a long time.

Started my workout during the 2nd quarter and rowed until the end of the 3rd. Since my teenage son was sitting next to me, I could hold off on fixing dinner. Tried to end the workout at 11,111 but overshot by 4 meters. Longest piece I've rowed yet. I figure at this pace (2:18.5/500 m) it might take me around 1:45 to complete the 1/2 marathon. Finding the time to do it might be the toughest part. :?

I was also quite sure about it. I tried to outrow a cold but it caught me by surprise about halfway. I might have left my helmet a bit open. :(
So this week will just be 10k sessions up to Friday. Then as of Saturday we both go for a ten day spacewalk in the Austrian Alps. Next HM is to be expected July 4th.

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 6.14.09

Post by Kona2 » June 15th, 2009, 10:01 am

Woohoo! The crew has indeed been busy .... several milestones on the horizon today! Some say it is because they are preparing for tandem spacewalks in the lunar mountainous region known as the Austrian Alps (so named after it's earthly counterpart).

Season meters as of 45/365 = 12,228,685 m

Total meters on the day = 224,718 m

Oars in space = 32 percent

MILESTONES....Bragging Rights....Celebrations:

1.0 MM Kiba (and done with back to back Red Giants!)
200K David G
100K Kenneth G
Image Red Giant # 5 for Kiba
Image Half Marathon # 1 for this year Mike C

And thanks to all the lunar crew:

Kiba 50,000 m
Mike C 31,097 m
Kenneth G 30,016 m (good update!)
K2 16,000 m
Darryl 14,338 m
Gina 11,115 m (Congratulations on your longest row!)
Ted 11,000 m
Chris 10,327 m (always significant when the erg lands on a 27)
Peter H 10,000 m (keep your helmet closed and your spacesuit intact) :D
Baz 9,246 m
Peter G 8,000 m
David G 7,000 m
Rick 6,570 m
Kevin 5,050 m
Terry M 2,959 m
Steven 2,000 m
